[Bonus chapter]Chapter 44: What do I do?

" I went to drop Melissa off, If I didn't how else would I have seen the boy Melissa is in love with? " I knew he was messing with me but that didn't stop the pain from hitting my heart.

" get off my phone " I told him intending to hang up.

" Anyway before  you hang up tell me where her coffee shop is. "

" Why do you need the address? " I asked rather too quickly.

" Why else? To go taste her coffee Of course " I could feel his mischievous smile.

" Tommy. " It  was a clear warning but he just laughed instead.

" Calm down man, all this jealousy and you won't admit you're in love with her. " I wished instantly he would just magically disappear to Paris. 

" Just let her do her work Tommy " I said defeated.

" I never heard her complaining she didn't like my presence, if anything I know there's someone she hated seeing. " He chuckled again and I just hung up and held the steering so tight till I could feel the pain in my muscles. 

No one on earth could get on my nerves like Tommy, He enjoyed it.

Why was he going to see her again?  Was this what he meant when he said I'd regret it?

I drove around for another 30 minutes before driving back to the penthouse. I entered the penthouse to find him sitting playing playing a video game. 

" Why are you here? Didn't  you say you'd go take coffee at her shop? " I avoid saying her name like if I  did it would hurt me more.

" Oh that, she's  currently not in the shop. " He said without taking his eyes off the game.

" Oh school. " I  murmured  as I took a sit beside him.

" Nah, she went to an orphanage with her friend. "

" Which of her friends? " I didn't want to hear it was the male one, I hated that he got to spend so much time with her.

That question got Tommy's attention since he finally dropped the gamepad and turned to me with a mischievous smile on his face.

" Why do you care? " You Tommy to be annoying  when he wanted to.

" Never mind " I turned around fishing for my phone in my pocket so I could text Gab instead.

" Okay suit you, anyway I met her ex today. He made it clear he wanted her back, I think Melissa still likes him and may go back to him or start cheating on you with him, well if that happened I wouldn't blame her" He chuckled a little before continuing " I also met the someone else that would do anything to have her too, she like a magnet that attracts people. Am so tempted to have her to myself " He was rubbing a hand on his bear like he was thinking about it, my grip on my phone tightened and I found myself so angry every air I took in was painful.

" You're gonna divorce her soon right? I could date her when you do so right? " He asked again, I knew he wanted to get me angry but still I was so angry 

" DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. " I snapped at him immediately, I didn't realise I sounded so cold until I looked at Tommy to see his expression 

" Calm down bro " He said as he suddenly started laughing " I'd be more worried about her ex and that friend of hers. " He added.

" How dare he show his face to her after cheating on her with her sister? The animal, I could snap his neck if I see him right now." I didn't even realise I said it out loud till I heard Tommy exclaimed 

" Wow!!! I would Xavier Scott  could be this  jealous." Tommy was looking at me amused at my outburst.

" Piss off dude," I said trying to end the conversation.

" Oh, that reminds me, " Tommy said excitedly and I raised an eyebrow as I waited to hear why he was so excited. I was ready to pounce at him if he said anything again about Melissa's ex.

" What do you remember? " I forced myself  to ask.

" Her friends  are coming over on Sunday. " He said happily.

" WHAT??? " I was completely  shocked " Why? "

" I invited them over, they hate you. " He simply said.

" They don't even know me so why would they hate me?"

" Are you kidding me, bro, you think they would like an old man who forced their beloved friend to get married to him? " He rolled his eyes as the words came out of his mouth.

" Oh, that makes sense. " I murmured. 

" I warned you Xavier " As he said this my mind went back to my conversation  with him some months before I married Melissa.

" Come on bro, you can't just ruin a girl's life because of your revenge. Her father is your target not her, why get her involved? " He had asked.

" Am not doing anything to her, I did my research and discovered she's his only child which his first wife had for him. I want to take her away from him and make him helpless, I won't even touch her or do anything bad to her. Dude you know me, I could never hurt her and besides I'll divorce her when am done with her dad. " I explained.

" Okay, What if you developed feelings for her? " He asked again, staring  at me. 

"Are you kidding me, Tom? " I laughed at him like he was crazy " How can I fall in love with a girl and am planning to destroy her father besides have you ever seen me with any girl, I don't have time for that shit right now. " I concluded. 

" But... " He tried but I stopped midway way

" Don't  worry dude, nothing of that sort is happening " 

I closed my eyes as I remembered every word he said and every word I said to him. I was so sure I couldn't  fall for her but I fell for her the moment  I set my eyes on her.

" I was so sure nothing of this sort would happen, how did I end up falling  so hard for her? " I could feel Tommy's  eyes on me even though my eyes were closed. 

" Can't you just tell her the truth? " Even though he asked he knew I couldn't, I had lived all my life waiting to end all those who caused my parents' death. How could I give it all up now?

" Do you think she would love me when she finds out all I've ever dreamt of is destroying her father? Do you think I can have both? " I asked finally opening my eyes and staring at him best friend who is more like a brother to me.

Tommy was quiet as he just stared at me, he knew as much as I did that I couldn't have them both. Not to mention there was still Sofia, whom I had the responsibility of taking care of and  I had promised to marry her. I never loved her but I had thought I would marry her since I was never interested in this love shit but now that I was in love with Melissa I didn't even want to imagine marrying Sofia. 

" What do I do bro? " I asked quietly.
