The end of the world was beginning for humanity, and the deity who would bring it about was in the sky above the battlefield that should decide the world's future, but the situation turned into something unexpected even for the most pessimistic.
When things seemed like they couldn't get any stranger for humans, a sudden lightning bolt struck the deity who seemed to be judging everyone.
Diana, who had felt the breath of death just seconds ago, realized what had happened. It seemed her gods had decided to intervene when this deity tried to interfere in the mortal world.
Diana glanced at Arthur and realized he wasn't in a good state either. She didn't know what to do; she no longer wanted to continue this fight, and now, with more and more dangers appearing, her desire not to continue deepened.
Arthur, who had regained the ability to move, also pondered on what he should do. He still had a trump card, a weapon that could cause earthquakes and tsunamis, but after what happened, he wasn't sure if it would be enough.
While everyone returned to breathing normally, once again, things changed on the battlefield. Where Inmo had been previously, a large blue portal appeared.
Covering a vast expanse of the sky, everyone could see what was happening on the other side. That deity that had vanished was walking towards the portal.
Behind him, there was a beautiful city, a place meant for the gods to dwell, but now it was just a heap of rubble. Lava flowed from the ground, burning everything, while fire consumed the place. The sky was literally tinted blood-red, a vision of hell.
The vanished deity returned unscathed, holding a head with a black helmet. The head had a strange gray hue and a look of anger.
But it seemed this deity didn't care much. He threw the head aside without a second glance, and soon, the portal closed and vanished without a trace.
Wonder Woman recognized the place inside the portal as Olympus, where the gods lived. Lifeless bodies could be seen on the other side of the portal. She recognized some dead gods there, just like the head in his hand. It was Ares, the god of war; his power should have been at its peak at that moment.
The whole world was at war, his power had never been stronger, and yet he lost. It had only taken minutes, and yet this being managed to kill all the gods. It didn't make sense.
Diana, who had her beliefs and dogmas shattered before her eyes, had lost hope. She fell to her knees while gazing at Ares' head.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inmo had grown impatient with these feeble gods. He might have killed the main consciousness of these gods along with their bodies, but when he entered the dimension of the gods, the connection they had with their other forms was disconnected. Consequently, the gods in smaller dimensions weren't linked to the central consciousness.
Thanks to Inmo's destruction of the gods' dimension, this connection, which was unavailable at the moment, never returned, leaving the gods with individual minds and no knowledge of what happened to the dimension of the gods.
That's why the Olympian gods attempted to attack Inmo. They didn't know who he was or where he came from, and as a result, they met their demise.
Inmo once again harnessed his gravitational power to immobilize everyone on the battlefield. He then approached Arthur and Diana, his expression even colder than before.
"Aquaman, the king who never truly considered his own people, always using them as if they were his pawns to decide life and death, all for revenge," the commanding voice emanated from Inmo's mouth as if he were judging Arthur's fate.
"Diana, forever a warrior, never a queen," Inmo, witnessing Diana's state, appeared to have no compassion for her at this moment.
While floating in front of them without ever touching the ground, he looked around, seeing the Atlanteans and Amazons. "And you followed them to the end, without even thinking or questioning, look where that has brought you."
His speech seemed unfinished as he continued, now addressing the weaker side of this war. "you humans, your weakness disgusts me, relying on the hope that one day a destined hero would come and save you, always placing your trust in heroes."
At the end of his speech, Inmo seemed to give up. He had made a decision. For a long time, he had contemplated how to deal with humans, and deep down, he still had hope for humanity, that they could be more than they were.
But in the end, he realized that humanity was destined to remain this way, at least in the DC universe where heroes and villains played their theatrical games without truly advancing society.
Inmo's decision was to not interfere with humanity. He would protect his empire and elevate them beyond humans, turning them into something greater, something better, something close to perfection, a utopia.
As a final gift to humanity, he allowed them one more chance in this world. He released his control over the humans who wished to escape, leaving only the Atlanteans and Amazons detained, along with a few heroes.
"Go, try to be better," Inmo waved his hand, sending them away. Some were still paralyzed by fear, but soon they regained their senses, fleeing the place.
"As for all of you, today you've come to understand that there is no winner in war," Inmo said as he pointed his right hand to the ground, and a purple light emerged.
Those who remained were filled with fear. At the end of Inmo's gestures, they all felt heavier, as if a mountain had crashed upon them. Only a few heroes were fortunate enough not to experience this; it seemed that Inmo had no intention of attacking them, despite having them paralyzed.
Inmo was not playing around; he was determined to end this by eliminating everyone.
