Chapter 9

Aurora had exhaled as she was in the car with her father as the music was starting to play. Her crush on Logan had gone in various directions ever since it had officially came out and she didn't know how to handle it on a base. She saw as her father had turned right but suddenly a car swerved in front of them.

"Hold on, Aurora!" Elijah said, losing control of the car.

Aurora saw as her whole life had gone by her eyes. She felt the car rolling and before she knew it, the car had stopped right in front of a building. Looking up through the broken glass she saw her father, bleeding the death as she had coughed.

Logan and his friends were outside, smoking, when he had seen how a car had rolled. Frightened, along with the rest of his classmates and the students, he saw as Noah rushed over to the car.

"Aurora! Hey, you okay?" Noah asked as Aurora looked at him.

"My dad..." Aurora had said as she lost consciousness.

"Aurora? Aurora! No, no," Noah said as he had tried to open the door when Logan heard the name.

"Is she okay?" Logan asked rushing over.

"No, she's unconscious and her father is busy bleeding to death. Help me," Noah said.

"Landon! Call an ambulance. Now! Okay," Logan said as he had pulled open the door and saw as Aurora was laying unconscious, her head bleeding.

"Try to get Elijah out, now," Logan said as he had gotten out a lighter from his pocket.

Carefully burning the safety belt, he had caught Aurora, as he saw how more people had come to help and took Aurora out of the car, placing her on the grass.

"Aurora? Aurora, hey. It's Logan. Open your eyes," Logan said carefully wiping the glass pieces off her face as the ambulance had arrived.

"Help! Two people. A man in his 40's and a twenty-year-old girl. The girl is unconscious, and the man is not reacting," Noah said.

As the paramedics had rushed closer, Logan had stood aside and watched as they had helped Aurora. Seeing how they had pulled Elijah out of the car; he exhaled as he saw how serious his injuries was. Knowing he won't make it. He didn't like to admit it, but Aurora was waking up without a father.

"Sir, do you want to ride with us?" a paramedic asked as Logan nodded and jumped into the back of the ambulance.

"It's okay, Aurora. It's okay," Logan said, brushing over her hair, as the ambulance drove off.

Aurora had woken up, seeing the cables and cords connected to her arms and through her nose as she had looked around and saw how Logan was sitting in a chair.

"Logan," Aurora said as he had stood up and went to her.

"Aurora, hi. How are you feeling?" Logan asked as Aurora looked at the door.

"Is he okay? Did he make it?" Aurora asked as Logan had looked at her.

"Aurora, I'm so sorry. Your father... He didn't make it. I am so extremely sorry," Logan said as Aurora looked at him, tears appearing in her eyes.

"I am so extremely, incredibly sorry. I'm so... I'm so sorry," Logan said as the tears had slid down her face and Logan took Aurora's hand in his.

"I'm so..."

"He's gone," Aurora said as Logan had nodded.

"Cry if you have to. Scream. Yell. Swear. Do whatever you need to," Logan said as Aurora shook her head.

"It won't help. He's gone," Aurora said.

A couple of days later

Aurora had looked out of the window of her bedroom while she had opened up her phone. Seeing the picture of her and her father. Since it had happened just three days ago, Aurora hadn't gotten the courage to finally move forward from everything. And yet she hadn't received a word from her brother or sister about the accident or how they are feeling.

She saw as Logan had come into her room while she had stood up. She smiled as he rushed towards her, punching her through her face as she fell to the ground and their mother came into the room.

"Logan! What the hell are you..."

Kicking Aurora in the stomach, Sophia had rushed towards them as she pulled Logan away and instantly Ava had come into the room.

"Are you out of your mind?" Sophia asked as Ava went to Aurora.

"Are you okay?" Ava asked, helping her sister up, as she had fallen over her feet.

"Aurora could..."

"Aurora should have died! Not Dad. She. And now she's here and..."

"Aurora, can someone come and get you?" Sophia asked as Aurora had slightly nodded and Logan stormed out of the room.

"Ava, please help Aurora to disinfect those wounds. I'll pack her things," Sophia said as she had gotten out her phone.

Aurora - can I come and sleep over for a few days? Things are uncomfortable at home.

Aurora had sat down on the stairs of the bathtub as Ava had gotten out disinfectant and some cotton wool. Feeling the sting on her lip, Aurora heard her phone and instantly opened it.

Gabriella - yeah sure won't be a problem. We'll be there soon.

Aurora had exhaled as she looked at Ava who was disinfecting the wounds as she took off her jacket and saw the bruises on her arms.

"Keep that jacket on. Doesn't matter how the weather changes. Keep it on," Ava said as Aurora had nodded.
