Ylana Sapphire and Rowan Garnet are the children of two mafia bosses. To build an alliance between their families, their fathers arrange a marriage between the two.

Rowan is reluctant because he and his family are secretly wolf shifters and Ylana seems to hate both the plan and Rowan for unknown reasons. But all that changes when Rowan discovers that Ylana is his mate.

Now Ylana is left not only navigating the new world of shifters but marriage within the mafia world as well.

Rowan cleared his throat. "You know, we don't have to do anything tonight, or ever, if you don't want. One of the couches has a pull-out bed I can sleep on."

Ylana made her decision right then. "I think we should. That way we can know if we're . . . compatible that way.” She heard Rowan's breath quicken. "If you want."

It felt good to be doing something other than sitting around, even if it was all based on what might be a teenager’s mental breakdown. Rowan had commanded Keegan to take half of his team to the Jersey Shore earlier. Hopefully, by the time Keegan and his group got up there, they would know where Ylana was. Without Carmine there, it was Ginger’s job to hack into any cameras along the route they suspected Ylana was on – Carmine taught her everything she knew, after all. 


Harkin was on the phone with different people from the various search parties directing them to head into New Jersey and look for the van Rowan described. Indigo was sitting on a chair with his eyes closed while he rubbed his temples, claiming he was trying to talk to Ylana again. Lily was on the floor by Indigo’s seat, flipping through her pile of books that Rowan now realized were all about witchcraft. 


Ginger cursed and pushed back from Harkin’s desk where she had taken up post.
