"This way please." I heard the female hostess's voice. He turned to follow her as I looked down. She took us to a back corner booth.
"Thank you." He said as she left. I looked around then at him. "Take the corner," he said.
I let go of his arm and sat on the side that was against the wall, in the corner where there was no one behind me. I watched his smooth moving body sit across from me as his green eyes looked at me and I looked around. For every new sound that I heard I jerked in its direction. It wasn't very crowded but even the sounds irritated me.
"Sylvia wasn't joking." he suddenly said as my wide-open amber eyes looked across the table at him. "You really have a hard time with crowds."
"It's not like I choose to." I said as the server came over.
"Hello, can I get you something to drink?" She asked to place silverware and napkins on the table.
"Coke." He said still watching me.
"Um.... peach tea... with lots of ice."
"Alright I will be right back with that." She left the table as I gripped the menu in my hands. As a busser came around with the cart, clearing off tables, I moved more towards the wall, taking the menu with me.
"Have you seen a doctor?" He asked.
I nodded.
"I can't... stand the medicines." I said watching the busser make clanking noises with the silverware and glasses. The server came back setting the glasses in front of us.
"Have you decided what you wanted?" she asked.
"Frisco and fires," he said still contently watching me.
"Alright and you sweety?"
"Chili cheese fries." I said.
"Alright I will get that in for you." She took his menu as I placed mine on the table, she took it and walked off.
I watched the busser walk away. I felt my heart pounding in my chest. Then, the worst thing happened. The employees came out singing their loud annoying birthday song. I gasped, jumping, not expecting it at all. I covered my ears with my hands, leaned back against the booth’s bench, as the noise from the restaurant got too much for me to handle. Too much noise always hurts my ears. Then, I felt arms around me as I was being scooted to a warm chest. Arms protectively wrapped around me as I gripped the T shirt. His cheek on the top of my head, his one hand rubbing my back as his other was across my shoulders. His other hand was at the back of my head as I heard clapping next. Things seemed to have calmed down as he lifted his head, looking around.
"What do you think about when this happens?" he asked low.
"It's not.... not what I think about." I loosened the grip on his shirt as I kept my hand flat on his chest next to my cheek as I looked down at the edge of the table. "My ears are really sensitive. I guess it sets off my nerves. I also can't be aware of other things when there is that much noise."
"Hm... so, it's not just that you are an introvert."
I nodded as he loosened his grip on me.
"Father said you don't go very many places. Prefer your room or the pool where you are left alone. Your mother said it's how you always been."
I folded my hands in front of me as his hip was still touching mine, his right arm behind me as his other was crossed over the table.
"I go when places aren't busy."
"Here you go." I heard the server. She set our stuff on the table as he moved his arm. "Anything else?" Issac shook his head.
"No thank you. Come back in about fifteen minutes."
"Sure." She left, going to check another table.
I unwrapped the silverware and started eating the fries on the side. Nothing else was said as we ate. No other birthday surprises came around either. The server came back just as we were finished. I couldn't hide the slight blush on my cheeks as I felt his green eyes on me. He elbowed me gently as I looked up.
"What ice cream do you want?" he asked, his voice husky as his green eyes kept on me. I thought for a moment.
"Strawberry regular cone." He grinned, looking up at the server.
"Make that two." She nodded and left.
"Why did you get what I got?!" I exclaimed, looking at him as he looked back down at me.
"I'm getting what you get!" he exclaimed, still watching me as his green eyes darkened into cloudy emeralds. "I always get strawberry."
"U huh!" I exclaimed, turning to fully look at him. "You wanted me to order first so that you can copy me."
"Ask my father." He said his voice low. "Strawberry is my favorite."
I moaned, gripping my shoelace.
"Fine!" I turned back, my arms crossed as I leaned back into the seat. His arms were folded on the table as he watched me. "I will just have to pick a different flavor for next time. As long as it's fruit." He laughed as I fluttered my eyes lashes and looked at him over my glasses again.
"Give me that look again, I won't be accountable for my actions."
I then stuck my tongue out, leaving it hang there.
"Do that again and I will put that little tongue to work."
I blushed then and sucked my tongue in. He chuckled as the girl came around with the ice cream. I straightened as she handed them and the bill to Issac. She turned to go to another table. He handed me my cone and stood. I scooted out and followed him to the register as I ate my ice cream.
He paid and we left the restaurant. He leaned against his car door as I leaned against the driver side rear.
"Peach." He said suddenly. I looked over at him as he tossed his paper into the trash can that was at the front of his car. "Or cherry. Those are the other better choices," he said coming back to stand by his door, his hands in his pockets as he looked down at me. I looked away, eating the bottom of my cone. I walked around him and tossed my paper into the trash. I walked around to the passenger side as he unlocked the doors. We got in as I put my seat belt on. We were on the highway for at least thirty minutes as I watched the scenery outside.
"Thank you." I said low and almost shyly.
"For what?" He asked.
"For... dinner and... support." He didn't say anything as I looked at him. Sighing, I looked back out the window.
"No one has done that?" He asked. I shook my head.
"No. My mom would only try to sooth me with words. She isn't a public affectionate person. Father... just let mom handle me."
"Seems logical of him." He said. "There is nothing wrong with showing someone your feelings in public."
I looked at him as his green eyes kept on the road. His right hand on the wheel as his other was on the window, his hand to his cheek.
"So, what you're saying is you have a sense of feelings towards me?"
He made a slight noise, shifted in his seat as I swear his cheeks turned pink themselves. His right hand landed on the gear shift as his other on the wheel.
"Are you... blushing?" I asked as another weird noise came from him. "Ut... you are!" I exclaimed, knowing full well I was teasing him. He had teased me; it was time he got some of his own medicine. "Aww... isn't that adorable. Ok so... you labeled me as a gold digger, but you had no problem trying to calm me down in the restaurant. Make comments openly about the looks I give you, or my tongue sticking out, but you blush!"
He pulled rather harshly into grandfathers' driveway. Now his face was red as he looked forward. His jaw clenched. His hands gripping the gear shift and wheel so tight his knuckles were white. Something told me to stop there, but this was too cute to not continue.
"I can understand when I blush, but you have to be used to females by now. Especially ones that are somewhat experienced." The car stopped in front of the big mansion as the motion detecting lights flashed on.
I turned to unbuckle my seat belt when his hand clamped down on mine. I gasped startled with the action. I looked up at him as his green eyes were still the smokey green. I tried to jerk my hand from his tight grip but wasn't able to.
"Issac..." I said looking for his hand covering mine to his face now closer to mine. I tried to move back but his other hand grasped my chin, keeping me in that spot. I scanned his flushed face as he suddenly licked from the corner of my mouth, up my left cheek.
"Ah!" I exclaimed as he let me go. The seat belt retracking back as he watched me laughing at my arm wiping my face.
"You had ice cream on your cheek." He said and with that he opened his door.
"Arh!" I growled. "You jerk!!" I yelled louder as he closed the door. He disappeared into the house as the male servant came out. I opened the door grumbling to myself. He came over, a smile on his face as always.
