Chapter 43: In Which Heffalumps are Found

The morning sunbeams hit her eyes like a punch. Daisy tried to fight against it, but a fool was she, to sleep at the side of the bed that was turned to the window. But now there was no way back. Marco was sleeping like a rock, and not ever could he move by himself until he woke up. So Daisy could only turn to Marco. She would get a little taste of Marco’s morning breath, but at least the sun wouldn’t blind her.

Daisy turned to Marco and closed her eyes. The sunbeams didn’t bother her anymore. However…

“And, sleep passed,” Daisy thought, rolling her eyes.

Daisy woke up, sitting on the bed. She yawned and stretched herself. Every bone that could do it instantly cracked. Such a good sensation, it gave Daisy a feeling of freedom after hours curled up in bed. She sighed and rubbed her eyes.

Daisy changed clothes and went to her kitchen.
