Making a Move (1) (Revised) – A New World Arc (14)

1 day after we meet Hana's parents:

I didn't think something like this would happen. What are the chances of meeting your parents in this world? I was curious if they had photos of either Hana or me when we were little, I don't expect that they still have them in this world, but it was worth a shot. And the same day that we asked them to bring the photos they brought them. It seems that her parents carry photos of us from when we were kids. There were a lot of photos of Hana but there were still a good number of photos of me.

"Well, we always carry them in our inventory. Maybe Hikaru can remember something if he can take a good look at them"- Today, Mom seemed a lot calmer than yesterday.

"You 2 are the best. But enough about this. We need to focus on something more important. I think the king already told you the situation about Goddess Ifrit and how he wishes to get rid of Lord Welcia and another Lord."- Her, well, from what I know Hana's parents are my parents as well, so. I guess I am gonna refer to them as Mom and Dad. Anyway, Dad nodded and without speaking he pulled out a map

"Well, now that you mentioned it, yes, the King did tell us that, we were there for the same reason. Hikaru, I think the 2 of us think alike, and I am sure Hana is filled in on this too. We will guide the 2 of you to his mansion where you will make an offer he won't be able to refuse, I know you can do it son."- Dad smiled at me and Hana. Mom wasn't smiling at me, she was avoiding me as much as she could. I think she has a valid reason to do so, it doesn't matter now.

"What are you thinking? Do you want him to bring Hana along in this? We already talked about this"- Mom got up and stared me in the eyes. Well, seems like I got in trouble for something.

"Sia?"

!The most likely reason she is angry at you is because she has resentment against your biological father and has the fear that you turned out like him, and maybe because she thinks you only caused trouble for Hana!

"They are both adults and can take care of themselves, besides..."

"Mom, I can take care of myself, plus, if I am not with Hikaru, we can't do anything!"

"Of course, you can't do anything, I don't expect him to be useful in this world. Before coming here he only cause you trouble!"- She clenched her teeth and looked at me, her hand slipping from time to time to a spot in her clothing where she most likely carries a concealed weapon

"No, you are wrong, Hikaru can't survive without me and I can't survive without Hikaru, our skills complement each other and so does our fighting style, we need to work together to win fights, we took down a leader monster all by ourselves with ease. If you don't trust us enough, we can fight right now and prove it!"- Hana shouted at our mom, I don't know what got into her to do this but I am grateful

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to see how strong are the 2 of you, I give in. We will have a mock battle, 2v2 to see who is stronger, if you can keep up with our attacks or defeat us in a head-on battle, I will think of it again"- Mom reached into her pocket and pulled out a leather glove and threw it at me and Hana. I kind of know this is an invitation to a duel.

"We accept!" - Hana and I shouted

"Wait a bit!" - Dad interrupted

"One more thing I would like to clarify. You 2 said you were reincarnated here as monsters, but you 2 look very human to me. Or maybe you have the skill to disguise yourselves, I would like to see you with the skill off"- Dad continued while taking out his sword

"Yes, we are using a disguise, it's one of my 2 primordial skills, called: Lord of Deceit and Lies Lucifer, it allows me to shape-shift and not be detected, it works very well, that's why we were able to get into Welcia without being noticed."- I tried my best to explain to my dad

I turned off the skill for a bit. Hana's parents saw my growing horn and looked at Hana's horns as well.

"Well, what are your monster races then? You look unusual. I can guess Hikaru is some sort of Shadow and Ice Demon mix but I have no idea about Hana"

"I am an Orc, current evolution state is Greater Orc"- They touched her horns, but nothing happened

When Hana's parents tried to touch my blue horn they started to shiver, but when they touched my black horn their hands seemed to vanish, the hand was there but not visible.

"That sure is interesting. So, a Demon and an Orc. Well, I don't really care, but you will have an easier time while fighting, mostly with Humans, other non-sentient monsters will still rip you to shreds if they are high enough. Well, still, we chatted enough, it's time for that mock battle"- Dad extended his as if he wanted to high-5 me, mom looked at him and frowned, he extended his hand further and I did the same thing and ended up doing a high 5, much to our mother's dismay

We went outside the cabin to have our small mock battle with her parents, I don't know why would they want to battle again after what happened the first time. But this time I have a better idea, I should let Hana do more this fight, yeah, I won't use my shadow tendril this time. I want a real challenge.

Before even starting the battle I wrapped some shadow tendrils around Hana to help her with balance and defense

"Ok, are you kids ready?" They both drew their swords and came at us in full force, Hana drew her Katana and managed to parry both of them in 1 hit, I followed by drawing my shadow sword.

"How are you going to fight with? An invisible weapon?"- Dad laughed and dashed at us again

"Yeah"- I said in a serious tone.

I carefully advanced toward him, Dad attacked again and I parried, his sword is the length of an Odachi, well, my Shadow Sword is an Odachi, it has just 1 edge, unlike their double-edged swords. Backing down from him, Mom managed to knock Hana back, well, almost, she was held by my shadow tendril, she was charging toward Hana, the best time to trip her with my shadow tendrils, I looked in her direction for a second and then raised my right hand and pointed at her feet

"Hey, eyes on me!"- Dad swung his sword again but, I managed to parry it in time, but with the sharp end of my Shadow Odachi, well, but this time, instead of a normal parry, it ended up cutting his sword in half

"What the hell?"- He looked at his broken sword.

"Well, seems like you have no weapon. I win"

"What the hell was that?"- Mom looked at Hana and I

"No, we won, Hikaru, couldn't do it without you."- I turned to look at Hana, Mom was on the ground, pinned down by my shadow tendrils.

"Well, seems like the 2 of you won this battle. See sweetheart, they are strong enough and work together very well. That's our children!"- Dad dropped his sword and patted us on the head. I never knew what it meant to have parents or more like I don't remember.

"Well, what are you waiting for, let's go to the local lord and put the plan the two of you thought about in action. I am sure the king will be proud of you 2. That goddess gave us a run for our money with that mind control thing. I think you already know that people with no belief in that goddess can't be affected by it."- Dad winked at me once more before we started to head to the lord's mansion

The road to the mansion was complicated, there were a few turns and bends, but we managed to find a clearing that had a road. One thing that Dad mentioned is that there are multiple ways to get to the mansion, but the way they are showing us is special as it's only ever known and used by the lord and his family.

Back to the clearing, there was an overthrown carriage with 20 people nearby, feint cries could be heard from inside the carriage

"Hikaru, you know how to use your shadow magic, right? If you take these dudes out it will be good for all of us"- I looked at Dad and nodded slowly

"Hana, don't get involved"- Mom grabbed Hana's hand

"Well, I at least want to support Hikaru and Dad. I can deal with it, Mom. I got no choice"- Hana broke free from her mother's grasp and stood near me and Dad.

"Ok, now, I will distract them, I don't know how far your tendrils can reach, but for now take those guys in the front, keep 1 alive for interrogation"

I extended my shadow tendrils on the ground and had them slither to the nearest bandit, raising them slightly and then stabbing 5 of the bandits with the tendrils.

"Rise and Shine Losers!"- Dad and Hana charged in at them

"What the hell happened here?"- One of the bandits screamed when he realized what happened to the other 5 in his group

"One of you, take out the ones in the back!"

"Let me handle it"- Mom raised her hand in the air trying to cast a spell

"I can do it alone Mom"

*Use skill: Ice Magic, Ice Javelin Rain*- Since I have my ice mastery skill I rained down a few Ice Javelins on them. I slaughtered them with that attack, well, only the 2 of them remained alive. I missed the carriage intentionally, I didn't want to hurt who was there.

"Well, I think I know who is in the carriage. It should be Fumiko, the lord's daughter. I wonder where the one that drove the carriage is. I will go and search for him, you 2 stay here and take care of Fumiko if she is in there."- I looked at Dad and nodded. I looked at some bandits and gathered a few things that seemed valuable, maybe we could sell them for a profit later on

I kind of feel strange because I never killed someone, but I don't feel anything bad about it

!It's because you are a monster Hikaru, both you and Hana have the same effect. On people that have committed crimes such as bandits you don't gain guilt, it's a monster's innate trait!

"You have ice magic as a mastery skill. Huh. I will go with you Dad and search for the carriage driver."- Mom walked behind me and put one of her hands on my shoulder

"Let's check the carriage Hana."- I spoke to her in a lower tone. I used my shadow hands to place the carriage upright.

In the carriage I found a small girl, wearing a purple dress, white gloves, lime hair, and red eyes.

"What happened here?"- I looked at her if this was Fumiko, then, she looked different, but I had no time to worry about it

"Are you here to kill me as well?"- She managed to mutter under her breath. She is small and cute, and, why am I thinking that, on Hikaru, you are not a lolicon, I am a siscon, but not a lolicon, anyway, enough about that, I am not you Daisuke! Coming back to that moment, she looked scared, I know that I look scary and, I think I know why, I didn't turn on the human disguise, fuck.

!The answer is: you are a lolicon, stop denying it.!- I can hear Hana laugh over the telepathic link.

"We stumbled upon your carriage being attacked, we took care of the bad guys and came rushing to see who was attacked."- I sat in the carriage near her while I signalled to the others to come in

"You 2 are Hikaru and Hana. Did you come after me because of what my dad did? Please, I swear, I will speak with him, just don't hurt anyone!"- She bowed down to us.

"So you are his daughter. I don't see it, you are way nicer than he will ever be. The only person we have a grudge against is your dad, not you. So you should rest easy"- I looked at her smiling, I think that creeped her out more than anything.

"So, you won't kill me? But what are you going to do with my father? It's not like it would matter"- She mustered the courage to look at us.

"We can't tell you much about it. But I think some people can do that."- At that moment, Dad entered the carriage looking at Fumiko and smiling at her

"Long time no see Fumiko!"- She smiled, back at my dad

"Mr, you are here! Who are these 2?"- She jumped from her seat directly on his lap

"Don't worry, these 2 are my children. As for the way they look, well, let's say something bad happened to them that made them look this way, it's ok Fumiko, no need to be scared of them"- Dad patted her head and then Fumiko looked at us again, she wasn't scared anymore

"If you say so!"- Her mind is like that of a child, despite being an adult. You can see she is an adult but her mind didn't catch up with her

"Well, now, how is your dad?"- I can see Mom outside doing what she can to heal the horses, and by the looks of it, the person driving the carriage is dead, I guess Mom will be the one controlling it.

"Well, my dad is very ill, he would die anyway in a few weeks if what the doctors said it's true. But if I ever become lord there, I promise not to bother your children, Mister, you and your wife, and the best guards I have, I wouldn't want to do bad things to your children."- She forcefully smiled, sweat dripping down her hands and forehead.

"We are going back to the mansion. Everyone, hold tight!"- We started to move toward the mansion.

Well, I am sure there will be a lot of things that we will have to do once we reach the mansion, but I am sure we can pull them off.
