Plot of the Local Lord (3) (Revised) – A New World Arc (11)

The next day:

Hana and I have gotten some rest, but we are in dire need of making a move on the local lord.

We need to put in plan what Sia has told us, it's gonna be tough.

"Hikaru, what do you think we should do next, it's about the house, doesn't it seem a little

cramped?"- I looked around the house, it's cramped, I will give her that but it should be enough for 2 people, I think we also need more storage options for wood and whatnot.

"I get what you are saying, this space is tiny. It's good enough for 2 people, but we do lack storage for other items, and my Spatial Storage is already getting pretty cramped with all of the items that I am showing in it"- I opened my spatial storage to look at it again, and yes, it is

cramped, I can still fit a few more items but that's about it.

"You aren't getting it. I mean we need more comfort here. Don't you think the beds are too rough to sleep on or the windows let in too much cold when it's night, I mean, yes we are monsters and we aren't really affected by these conditions, but I don't like how it looks really. I know I shouldn't be worried about this right now, but it's more of an afterthought"- Hana pointed to the

windows and beds, she had a point. I am preoccupied with the local lord and what he wants to

do.

We should invest in this house a little more since we are staying here for a long time.

"Well, let's go to Welcia and go to one of the shops there and try to get some items from there. I will set the windows myself using Predator and Sia's help. Are there any other things we should change in our house."- Looking around again I can see the wood deteriorating, we need some substance that will stop wood decay, I don't remember what is it called.

"Yes, the wood is starting to decay, maybe there is something that we can use to stop the decay, and also the floor, it's not looking good."- Well we need a lot, we might consider moving into a new house, but with the current situation we might not stay there for long.

"We need to get to Welcia quickly, We can get materials to patch up the house temporarily, we managed to consolidate the outside but not the inside, damn, there is so much to do"

On the road there, we didn't see much, the villagers weren't hanging anyone around this time, but it looked empty, emptier than before, I don't know what was happening.

The city had another atmosphere to it this time around, it felt dead, more monotone than before, the normal medieval city atmosphere but not this time around, why was it so empty?

"Hikaru, be careful, I have a bad feeling about this."- Hana drew her katana and looked around, but I couldn't see anything either. Looks like some sort of mist is enveloping us

I prepared my shadow tendrils in a defensive formation around me, maybe the mist can't get through them.

!Affirmative, the mist that you see can't get through the shadow tendrils!

"Show yourself, this mist isn't helping you!"- With no one in the streets I looked around, I saw one door open, the door to the blacksmith shop, we happened to be near the shop, near enough to see the sign through the thick fog.

We entered the shop, looking left and right, the shopkeeper was staring at us, without saying anything.

"What brings you 2 here at a time like this?"- He looked at us in shock, as if no one was supposed to be here.

"What do you mean?"- I was ready to attack with my shadow tendrils. The man looked at us 1 more time, it looked like he was holding something behind the counter where we couldn't see it.

"Well, the local lord had decreed lockdown on this whole town to find the 2 people that happen to look like you two, he sent his strongest guards. You two better leave, those guards are very strong."- The man pointed to the door.

"Wait, did the lord give any names?"

"No, no names, just a description of how the two of you look and dress. Now, get out for your own good, I don't care for the local lord, he can go to hell"

"Fine, we will leave"- we left and we are out in the open again. Someone is watching us, 4 people in total, I can sense 2 people here with us, civilians most likely, and 1 person that is producing the mist, and then the blacksmith. What are we going to do now?

"Since almost all the shops are closed why not return home? It may be safer not to but staying here isn't safe either"- I looked around again, but I couldn't see anything or anyone now, the fog was getting thicker

!Affirmative, someone is indeed watching you, there are two more people, male, and female,

that's all the information I can gather!- Sia's words disrupted the silence

"Well, it will be more likely that they will follow us. Sia, make sure to announce me when they get closer"

!Affirmative!

The tension can be felt in the air. I am not turning my head around to look, that will give it away that we are onto them and that we know where they are.

!They seem to be in a state where they believe that you are paranoid about the fog, you should continue to play dumb and be scared!

We went back on the road, keeping an eye once in a while after those 2 people

!The 2 people are following you, their identity is still a mystery, I suggest caution!

After a few hours, we arrived at our cabin, we got inside and looked out the door, or what wasleft of it, someone tore the lower part of it. I covered it with my shadow tendrils and made sure no one could see through it.

!The 2 people are now near your cabin, don't look out the windows!- Fuck, they realized that we are living in the cabin, someone must have tipped them off because I don't know who in the hell will find this cabin right here in the middle of nowhere. They may be the guards that the blacksmith was talking about about.

"Be careful Hana, only speak in whispers, and don't let them find us here"- We couldn't hold our breaths, but we just kept quiet for a bit.

I communicate with Hana exclusively through telepathy right now, verbal speech has become deprecated for us since we have skills that will do that same thing but better.

"I suggest you 2 stop right there, we just want to talk with you 2"- A woman's voice can be heard from our cabin window. I conjured a new pair of shadow tendrils, I now have a general idea where they are and I can immobilize them, and so I did.

"So, you 2 are the guards that are after us huh? Don't move if you know what is good for you!"- I tried to make them move but it didn't work, I forgot to mention that I was not in the cabin, Hana was hiding near a corner for a surprise attack.

"I want the 2 of you to introduce yourselves to us. I have enough trust to get out of the cabin, now, who are the 2 of you?"- The 2 people tried to move but they tripped and fell, almost like something was keeping their legs shackled.

"What is this magic? Hey, I know you want to be cautious, but at least give us a hint"- They tried to move again but with no luck.

"I cast that just to make sure that if any of you try anything funny we will have the upper hand"- Keeping my spell up I moved in their general direction.

"Fine, just get the introduction over with"- The 2 of them said in a calm tone.

"I am Hikaru Tanaka"- The 2 of them paused

"Are you sure, I want to know for sure"- I can hear the man speak

"Yes, I am sure"

"I am Hana Tomura"- Hana stepped from the cover spot and pointed the tip of her katana at the 2 people.

"Tomura you say?"- They paused again, and the fog started to dissipate

"We are sorry. Truly. For everything"- They better be

"You 2 better be. What in the hell have the 2 of us done to you people to deserve to be hunted?"- Hana looked closer at the woman, she paused for a second and fell back onto me, knocking me over

"Hana, what the hell? It's not the time!"

"Hikaru, you don't know, they are, they are my parents, I can still recognize them, Mom, Dad!"- Hana got up, and her eyes started to produce tears, she didn't seem to notice or care.

"It's a long story, Hana, we are sorry for leaving you there for so long"- Hana fell into the embrace of the woman.

"Sia?"

!Negative, they are telling the truth, I matched both them and Hana and it's a 100% match for each of them, they are her real parents Hikaru!

"Let's get in the cabin, the lord might have sent other people to hunt us down.

We went into the cabin, and Hana's mother had to carry her there, Hana began to sob like a child for a few hours, hugging her parents.

Hana's dad left her side for a bit and approached me

"Thank you for taking care of Hana. You are a good man Hikaru"- Good man, the furthest thing away from good

"It was more the other way around to be fair. Maybe in this life, I can take care of her, but she is more than capable of taking care of herself, but we do work better together"

After another hour of sobbing Hana stopped crying and began to discuss with her parents

"You praise me too much Hikaru. Without your skills I would have been in a much worse position

by now, we do everything to help each other"- We sat at the only table we had, and Hana took a

seat in the middle, between me and her mother.

"Without you, this house and even the food will be much worse. I would get sick trying to eat

only noodle dishes"- I replied with a small smirk.

"I am happy to see the 2 of you get along so well. I will begin to tell the story of how I and your

father ended up in this place. I will let him start. And sorry for the fog in Welcia, we created it to

hide ourselves"- Hana's mother pointed toward her father.

"Well, where to begin, the short version is that you and Hikaru were just born. It's complicated but, Hikaru, Hana's mother is also your biological mother and the father you had was your biological father, it doesn't matter that much now, the family tree that we have is a little weird, anyway, after that, we were mugged in the street, we were killed during that time, and our last moments on earth we asked to be reincarnated in another world, and it happened since we are now here. We received some skills to help us develop, I think each one of us has 1 legendary skill. But now, how did the two of you end up here?"- Her father looked towards me.

We received 2 Primordial skills and 3 random skills, 5 in total. We woke up in the same summoning circle as our class was, the moment we died our whole class was summoned here to fight a war with demons. The King kicked us out but he told us to become demon lords and help him defeat goddess Ifrit"

There was a moment of silence, Hana's mother wanted to raise her hand at me, but Hana's dad stopped her.

"It's not needed. What's done, is done. Plus, you can't blame the kid for that, What sane person would want to live their life like that?."

"Hana, we have to leave sweaty, we will be back"- Hana's mom, no, mom was about to leave, but her dad stopped in the doorway for a few seconds and turned to us.

"We will report nothing to the lord, we will come tomorrow, I hope you have a plan to deal with the lord before he deals with you two. Don't disappoint the king and the other innocent monsters that are counting on you to stop goddess Ifrit from having a brainwashed army slaughter them!"- That's the last thing they said before leaving.

Han is crying again, but it's only expected. I hugged her all the time she cried. I don't know why I don't have those same emotions that Hana had when she saw her parents, maybe I am too far gone?
