Chapter 89-Gaia vs Carbon

Gaia resumes his Charge Stance as he faces his opponent, the silver and purple-haired man from before who managed to single handedly defeat both him and Mary.

"So who are you?" Gaia growls.

"Carbon, the second-" the man -now known as Carbon- then pauses, and gags, "The second strongest of the Children of Fire!" As Carbon says that last bit, he snorts and rolls his eyes.

"Second strongest," Gaia sneers, "Now THAT pisses me off."

"Tell me about it," Carbon grumbles.

"Who's fighting the first?" Gaia asks, "NOAH?! ARGH!!!"

"That bastard Smokey…" Carbon mutters to himself.

Gaia and Carbon sigh.

"Alright, enough of the yappin'!" Carbon then snaps as he clasps his hands together and interlocks his fingers. As he does so, silver sparks of energy begin to burst and swirl around the right side of his body, whereas PURPLE sparks of energy begin to burst and swirl around the LEFT side of his body. Ironic, considering the right half of Carbon's spiky hair is purple, while the left half is silver. As for Carbon's eyes, however, his LEFT eye is silver, and his RIGHT eye is purple, and his RIGHT pupil is silver, while his LEFT pupil is purple/

"It's as if…two different elements are vying for control within Carbon's body…" Gaia comments.

"Plasma Charge, Level One: Violet Ray!" Carbon cackles as he thrusts a hand towards Gaia, firing off a powerful blast of purple energy. The blast is so hot, that even from a couple dozen feet away, Gaia can feel his flesh boil.

"Earth Charge, Level Two: Stone Fists!" Gaia shouts as he thrusts his wand towards Gaia, causing pillars of rock to rise out of the concrete walls and floor all around the two men, each pillar aimed with a powerful fist of stone.

The two spells fly towards one another then collide, showering the battlefield with flashes of purple and shards of stone, completely canceling one another out.

"Looks like we're evenly matched," Carbon smirks.

"So it seems," Gaia replies.

Both men resume their Charge Stances again.

"Steel Charge…Level One…" Carbon begins to chant.

Gaia's eyes widen.

"So Carbon…really DOES have two elements…?" Gaia cries.

-"IRON MAIDEN" Carbon roars.

The steel making up the walls next to Gaia then begin to push forwards, attempting to crush him in between them. As the two steel walls fly towards Gaia, spikes shout out of them, forming a deadly trap.

"Earth Charge, Level Three: Rock Shield!" Gaia shouts, and brown rock begins to creep up Gaia's body, starting from the feet, forming an exo-skeleton of rock.

Carbon cackles as his Iron Maiden spell collapses upon Gaia.

Upon making contact with his shield of rock, the spiles of Carbon's Iron Maiden shatters, yet, so does Gaia's rock shield.

And so, the two men have done nothing more than stalemate once again.

"TCH," Carbon grunts, "We really are too evenly matched."

"Tell me," Gaia orders, "How do you have TWO elements?"

Carbon smirks. "So my impressive physiology piqued your interest, eh?" He asks, "Well…I'll tell ya'! Not 'cause I'm feeling nice today or anything, but because knowing this information…won't help you defeat me in the SLIGHTEST. So you know when two E-Chargers have a kid, their kid's element is a fusion of their parents' elements?"

Gaia nods.

"Well, there's a SUPER RARE, one in a MILLION chance, where a kid -rather than being born with an element that's a fusion of their parents'- is born…with BOTH of the elements! That kid…is me."

Gaia snorts with a smirk. "I thought you told me that knowing this won't help me defeat you?" He asks.

"Eh?" Carbon asks as he raises an eyebrow at Gaia, "It DOESN'T. I'm still gonna kill ya'!"

"Are you sure?" Gaia asks as he resumes his Charge Stance, "Now I know that you're nothing special. You're just a scrub with one more element than the rest."

Carbon's entire body tenses up. Gaia has struck a nerve.

"Now you've done it…" Carbon growls.

"EARTH CHARGE, LEVEL FOUR: EARTHQUAKE!" Gaia shouts as he stabs his wand into the ground, causing the earth to begin to tremble.

"Woah!" Carbon cries as he flails about, having been knocked off balance from Gaia's spell.

Cracks begin to spread across the ground, like branching rivers, starting from the point where Gaia's wand pierced the earth.

Blasts of earth, rocks, dirt, and soil begin to shoot out from the cracks on the ground.

"Shit!" Carbon cries as he hops about, just narrowly being rendered by Gaia's spell.

"As you were saying?" Gaia smirks.

"Damn you…" Carbon growls as he resumes his Charge Stance.

"Steel Charge, Level Two: Spider!"

Four spikes of steel jut out of Gaia's backs, like the legs of a spider, which Gaia uses as limbs. The sider legs pierce the wall behind Carbon, which Carbon then uses to climb onto the wall, evading Gaia's spell.

Carbon clasps his hands together again.

"PLASMA CHARGE, LEVEL ONE: VIOLET RAY!" Carbon shouts as he thrusts a hand towards Gaia again, firing off a blast of purple energy.

Gaia's eyes widen as he yanks how and out of the ground, but before Gaia can prepare a counter spell, Carbon's plasma beam BLASTS into Gaia, piercing his stomach, and causing Gaia to spit up blood as he's sent flying backwards, his back slamming into the wall behind him, then sliding down to the floor.

"As YOU were saying?" Carbon smirks as he uses his steel spider limbs to lower himself to the ground.

"That spell…was so fast…" Gaia grunts as he pushes himself off of the ground and gingerly touches his smoldering wound, "And so hot…"

"PLASMA CHARGE is one of the fastest and hottest elements there is," Carbon explains, "And my STEEL CHARGE -iron combined with fire- is the TOuGHEST of any metal-based E-Charge. Alone…BOTH of my elements are two of the strongest around."

Carbon then resumes his Charge Stance.

"Together…I'm INVISIBLE!"

Gaia's eyes widen.

"Don't tell me…" he slowly begins to say, "CARBON CAN COMBINE HIS ELEMENTS?!"

"PLASMA CHARGE, LEVEL ONE-" Carbon roars, "RAILGUN!"
