Chapter 91-The Children of Fire

One week prior to the current events unfolding in the Land of Fire…

"Oh man!" Sparky says as she walks into the classy, ornate meeting room of the HUGE victorian castle located towards the edge of the shopping district of the town that Team Noah will first enter in the Land of Fire one week from this scene. The castle is surrounded by a moat.

"Indeed," Tondra replies as she enters the meeting hall, "It's been YEARS, it feels."

Within the meeting hall, is an abnormally long table with nine seats. four on one side, four on the other, and one at the head of the table.

At the head of the table, sits a short man, around five foot seven. He has short, messy red hair and is wearing a gi top and gi pants of a matching red shade. The cuffs of his gi top and pants are tattered at the end. The man is currently barefoot. The man is wearing red prayer beads around his left wrist, right ankle, and neck. Covering the man's eyes, is a black blindfold. From what you can see with the blindfold eye, the man looks to be in his early twenties.

Sitting to the right of the man is Smokey, and to the left, Carbon. Next to Carbon is Sol. Next to Sol is Margarttte. And next to Margarette, is a woman about five foot five with long black hair with stringy bangs that cover her eyes. Perched on her shoulder, is a black crow.

Tondra and Sparky take their seats next to Smokey. The chair next to Sparky is empty.

"Perfect," the man sitting at the head of the table claps immediately once Tondra and Sparky sit down, despite his eyes being covered.

"It's been two years, Lord, and you haven't aged one bit," Sparky smirks as she leans forwards in her seat and rests her chin on her interlocked-fingers.

"So why have you summoned us?" Tondra asks.

"Everyone, please, the Lord is trying to-" Smokey begins to say, but he's brushed off.

"Whatever it is, it must be important," Sol grunts.

"So…HELIOS isn't here again…?" Margarette asks as she peers over to the empty seat next to Sparky.

The black haired woman is silent.

"TCH!" Carbon sneers as he leans back in his seat, folds his arms behind his head, and props his feet on the table, "How come Helios gets to skip out on these boring ass meetings, but we don't?!"

"Because HELIOS is the Lord's son," Smokey answers.

"I thought we're ALL his "suns"," Carbon snaps, "I'm the Lord's Second Sun, afterall!"

"And I'm his first," Smokey replies.

"Are you messing with me…?" Carbon growls as he lowers his feet and leans forwards into Smokey.

"Err…no, I just thought-" Smokey recoils as he waves his hands at Carbon, but Carbon cuts him off.

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME, SMOKEY! WE BOTH KNOW I CAN KICK YER' ASS!" He snaps as he slams a fist into the table.

"You really think so…?" Smokey asks as he leans into Carbon.

"I KNOW so…" Carbon growls back.

Before tensions can escalate, the red-haired man claps his hands together again, demanding the attention of everyone in the room.

"My Suns, PLEASE, try and get along," he says with a gentle smile.

"Apologies, my Lord," Smokey bows.

"Lapdog," Carbon sighs.

"So why are we here?" Sol asks.

"Now that I have your attention…my Seventh Sun, Raven, has found some… COLORFUL fellows currently residing in the Land of Earth," the man turns to face the black-haired woman, "Isn't this right, Raven?"

The black haired woman is silent. Her crow caws.

"That means yes…" Sparky whispers to herself.

"Led by Noah, the E-Charger of Water, and consisting of the Wind and Earth Chargers, as well as three other members of limited importance, this group is currently heading towards the Land of Fire, and therefore…US," the man continues.

"How come?" Tondra asks.

"Their goal is to prevent the Elemental Apocalypse."

"Isn't that bad for us?" Margarette asks.

"Why…yes, it is. It's bad for ME."

"Oh, PUH-LEASE!" Carbon spits, "We're all with Prometheus for our own reasons, don't act like we care about his plans!"

"Maybe you are," Smokey interjects, "But I'll GLADLY give the Lord my life if requests ask me to do so."

"You already have, Smokey BILAL!" Carbon cackles, causing Smokey's body to tense up, "You've been serving under Prometheus for YEARS! Have you finally gotten sick of sitting around all day while we get all the fun work?"

"Of course not…" Smokey growls.

"Carbon," Prometheus sternly says, "That's enough."

"What's wrong, leader?" Carbon smirks as he stands up and paces around the table towards Prometheus, then places a hand on his royal shoulder, "Finally decided it's time to kill each other?"

Everyone's eyes widen.

"YOU DARE TOUCH THE SHOULDER OF GOD WITH YOUR DISGUSTING HANDS?!" Smokey roars.

But Carbon ignores Smokey's taunt as Carbon lifts his hand off of Prometheus' shoulder and moves it towards his other hand, with the goal of entering his Charge Stance.

"MY LORD, LOOK OU-" Smokey begins to cry as he jumps to his feet and swiftly shoots a hand up to his eyepatch, but before Smokey could do anything, Prometheus lifts a hand and snaps his fingers.

"Divine Flame."

INSTANTLY, sparks of flame-orange energy burst and swirl around Prometheus' body, and without even moving his head, golden flames engulf Carbon's, causing the man to scream in pain.

As Carbon's screams echo throughout the meeting hall, Prometheus places his hands together, as if he was praying.

"Forgive me…for taking another life…" Prometheus says, as tears trickle down from his blindfold.

Smokey recoils.

By the time that the flames subsides, Carbon drops to one knee, panting heavily.

"Not bad, my Lord," Carbon pants, "Your instantaneous E-Charging is impressive as ever."

"You were wise to coat your body in plasma before my spell could connect," Prometheus replies, "The heat of your plasma saved your life, even though I was only using roughly ten percent of my power. As the E-Charger of fire, I don't even need to waste time charging or chanting spells."

Smokey sighs as he sits back down.

"As for our second order of events-" Prometheus continues as he claps his hands together, as if nothing had happened, "-We have two newcomers entering our ranks, that I would like for us to test out."

"Wh-what can they do…?" Margarette nervously stammers, afraid of upsetting Prometheus.

"One is able to produce cold-blue flames, and the other has a Devil Eye that allows him to swap the places of two people. I'm thinking that if I implant the one's Devil Eye into the E-Charger, he can become my Ninth Sun."

"What about your Eight Sun?" Sol asks.

"I have eyes on an E-Charger with the ability to cause disease via heat manipulation. He's running amok in a nearby town, spreading plague."

"Everyone…just…don't be like Carbon," Smokey sighs, "Remember why we're with the Lord."

"Yes," Prometheus smirks, "With you, the Children of Fire by my side, I shall rule over the world...AS IT'S ONE TRUE GOD!"

Prometheus smiles sadistically as he holds his arms upwards and stars to the sky above.

"YES, MY LORD!"
