9: To Get Stronger

The group enters the dungeon to see that the dungeon was covered with rocks all over and there were some Mana crystals spread over the dungeon which only luminated only a small portion of the dungeon.

The group started to move forward for a few minutes till the moment a group of Eclipsewolf attacked them but the attack was blocked by the tankers which were at the front and because of this the Eclipsewolf staggered a little and the main damage dealer took that moment to attack the Eclipsewolf. Kei had already unsheathed Yugen and started to cut down Eclipsewolfs. Kei got a jolt of memory about the blond man using a katana style. Kei subconsciously blocks an attack from the Eclipsewolf and puts Mana and creates a sharper edge through Mana. "Merciful Destruction." Kei says and then he instantly slices the Eclipsewolf into four parts and it couldn't even notice it until its body fell to the ground.

The people near Kei were very shocked by it. Kei came back to his senses after it happened but he already knew what he had done. 'It felt the same way like the time I was bombarded with Captain's and Zen's experience and techniques but this was only one move. Maybe I'm too weak to handle the rest of the moves, this move alone would take a lot of Mana from me but if I train till the point where it feels natural to me then maybe I can master this move and get other moves. " Kei saw the Essence floating out of the corpse of the Eclipsewolfs but strangely enough he noticed that he could see the Essence of the Eclipsewolfs that only he killed. The group started to move forward and Kei told them that he would catch up to them after he had taken a leak.

Kei then quickly gathered all the Essence in a group of ten and started to absorb them but the strange part was that he didn't feel any pain at all instead it felt like he got an energy boost. 'Maybe I don't feel any pain because I broke through rank C. These are all D-rank monsters but I can feel that I got more than enough Mana for my past self but my hunger for it is still not satisfied .' Kei's eyes started to glow and a little greenish white Mana started to radiate around him.

Because he took a long time the group moved ahead and left some monsters behind but this was good for Kei as he started the massacre of the monsters. Kei didn't even put any Mana in Yugen but he still was slicing through Eclipsewolfs easily just through his pure strength. After some time he reached the main group who were sitting and resting for some time. The injured were being healed by the healers and those who were fine were resting but they had their guards up probably because Eclipsewolfs are very stealthy and could attack them anytime they let their guard down.

Steph saw Kei and walked towards him. "I didn't know you were this powerful. You are ... Rei right? Forgive me if I am wrong, I am just a little bad with names."Kei looks at Steph for a few moments contemplating whether he should talk to him or not. "It's Kei. Kei Nakamura, recently I broke through rank C that is why I am so. strong ." Kei says that to Steph with a nonchalant voice. "Oh! But your hunter id showed me that you are, no, rank D. You better update your rank soon otherwise if the hunter's department knows about it then they won't let you off easily. They are very serious about the hunters who are not honest about their ranks." Steph says that to Kei. After hearing this Kei remembers the rumour about the fake ranker.

'According to what I remember fake rankers are rankers who fake their ranks in the ranking exams. They can't increase their rank but they could only decrease their rank and only some hunters in the world could do that because they have complete control over their Mana. This means that they hide their Mana while taking the ranking exams. There are only two possibilities why they do that first is that they assassinate other people for money and the second is that they want to quench their bloodthirsts and test their abilities against stronger opponents. There are some murderers, psycho persons who awaken and get free from or are already out of jail and they just want to kill innocent people and I don't know what fun they get but those are the only two possibilities I think.'

"Since you are powerful I will tell you a tip so listen carefully to me. I recently heard something which I hope is a rumour. A whole group was wiped out in a D-ranked Dungeon except for one person and after he killed everyone he killed the boss monster himself and took all the spoils for himself. Don't tell anyone else this ." Steph whispers to Kei. 'Isn't he talking about what happened in the dungeon I went to? But I didn't kill my group, why would I kill my best friend? but how did they know that the boss monster was killed after everyone else? Was someone there who left alive or did he also faint like me and then regained his or her consciousness and leave the dungeon after I killed the boss .' Kei rubs his head 'What a troublesome situation it is !'
