CHAPTER 22

Alina and Aria looked at themselves in shock.

"So what's your answer Alina?" Nolan asked slowly.

"Nolan are you drunk already?" Alina asked curiously as her feelings got mixed up.

Nolan moved away the plates in front of him then he fell asleep on the table.

"Jerky professor are you sleeping?" Aria asked as she pushed him slightly but he dozed off already.

"What! How can he fall asleep in times like this? You threw a bomb and wants it to explode us. What on earth did you say that and he didn't even drink much, how did he become so drunk to the extent of dozing off" Aria half yelled and hit the table head with her palms.

"Relax, Ria. It's fine. I guess this is the reason why he said he doesn't drink outside but you insisted"

"Don't tell me you're worried about him. Lina are you some sort of wood or statue. How come you're not overreacting right now? Your Nolan just confessed his feelings to you. Why aren't you shocked or concerned?" Aria asked curiously.

"Of course, I'm shocked but I guess he only said that because he was intoxicated. And who confesses their feelings in such a way. Nolan doesn't have feelings for me, he was just playing around with you" Alina said as she continued eating but she held her chopsticks so tightly as she glared at Nolan.

"Are you sure about that?" Aria asked with a smile.

"Of course I'm not sure. How dare him say such a thing and doze off in the middle of that? I feel like chopping off his legs and breaking his bones into pieces" Alina said angrily.

"Exactly, that's how I know your reactions to be like. Let's cheers to that" Aria said as she raised her shot glass.

"Cheers" Alina said and they clicked their glasses.

"You tear his ass apart and his balls too. You shouldn't spare him when he wakes up in the morning. You have to give him a piece of your mind. We're not in for drama scenes like I forgot about what happened last night. Go straight up and cut off his throat. Do you understand Lina" Aria yelled.

"Of course I do" Alina responded.

"What if he asks me about what my response are to his feelings? I don't even know if I love myself or not. How am I going to say those words to someone else?" Alina added almost in a whisper.

"Why are you stressing yourself over something like that? You've known him for months now and you've only been friends for a few days but there's no way on earth you've developed romantic feelings for him within this short period of time so trust me, he won't ask for your response and why kill yourself over it. If you don't want it then say so to him. A man should be man enough to receive the answer no from a lady" Aria said and Alina laughed.

"It's so fun having you around. So why were you laughing before? You got into a new relationship?" Alina asked curiously.

"Why would you even think that?" Aria blushed.

"Because you've always been popular with the guys back then in highschool. Although you always end up breaking up with them after a few days" Alina said and Aria laughed.

"They were too childish so I couldn't take it. But I happen to find interest in those who act cute without their knowledge" Aria smiled.

"Are you having a crush on someone at the company? Or whose celebrity's charms have gotten into you" Alina teased.

"I met with Matt at the shoot today" Aria said.

"Matt? You mean Matthew your contracted boyfriend?"

"What are you saying? That contract ended long ago" Aria cut in sharply.

"It ended long ago so what's this sudden reunion? Did he hit your fantasy? Your eyes are sparkling right now? Do you like him that much?" Alina teased.

"I like him but I wouldn't say it's that much. He's handsome and good at his singing career so" Aria uttered as she ran short of words.

"None of that are the reasons why you like him so why are you using that to cover up?"

Aria's phone started ringing. It's a call from Matt.

"Yes" Aria said on taking the call.

"It's Matt. Aria can you please tell your manager to return my jacket. The one I gave you at the shooting site. It's a limited edition, I can't lose it. Please return okay, thank you" Matt said and hung up before Aria would utter a word.

"How can he be so rich and yet still cry about a single jacket? Lina, forget about what I just said minutes ago. I take everything I said about him back. What a petty guy!" Aria hissed and threw her phone at the corner.

"There's no way, I will fall for such a man" Aria screamed and Alina laughed silently.

"Ria, what is love?" Alina asked out of the blue.

"How would I know that? I've never been in love so there's no way I have the definition for that. If what I feel for my parents is called love then I love them with all my heart" Aria said and Alina laughed out.

"Of course, you aren't wrong either but how do people fall in love? I've never thought of it and I have no idea what it is. It wouldn't be a bad idea to experience something like that once in our lives right" Alina said slowly.

"Lina, are you getting drunk? You're becoming emotional so of course you're getting drunk" Aria pointed out and took the glass from her hand.

"You can't get drunk. You have to take jerky professor to his apartment"

"I'm not drunk, I'm only curious that's why I said that. Anyways, I think it's getting late. I have to take him home" Alina said and stood up. She picked up her phone and slide it into her pocket.

"Will you take a taxi?" Aria asked.

"I don't think so. If we take the taxi then we will have leave his car here and that's not a good idea" Alina protested.

"But you can't drive either Lina. You're tipsy"Aria reminded.

Aria ordered for a driver through her cellphone.

"Your hired driver will arrive soon so wait a little" Aria said and Alina sat down slowly.

"Thank you Ria, you're the best" Alina smiled giving her a thumbs up.

"I know. There's no way I will allow you endanger your life. After so many years, I'm just realising that, we didn't get a chance to drink together so that's why I have no idea that you're a light drinker" Aria said with a smile.

"What do you mean light drinker? I took three bottles of soju already before Nolan arrived" Alina said pointing at the bottles at the side of the table and Aria's eyes widened in shock.

"When did you take all of this? Were you drinking secretly while you were eating?" Aria asked flabbergasted.

"I don't usually drink because of my work but I don't miss out on opportunities like this and right now, I'm only tired not tipsy. I'm not even started yet" Alina bragged.

"Wowww.... The new side of Lina have been revealed" Aria hailed and they both laughed.

A beep came on Aria's phone.

"Lina, the driver is here" Aria announced.

"Alright, I will take my leave now. Thank you and let's meet up tomorrow or next" Alina said with a smile as she stood up.

She helped Nolan up.

"Should I help you with that?" Aria asked.

"Don't worry, sit back and finish up everything. No wasting of food okay" Alina said and left with Nolan.

"I've missed her so much" Aria whispered with a smile as she watched Alina leave the restaurant with Nolan.

Aria slide into the online shopping app to place an order for Matt's jacket.

"He's so full of himself, only for just a jacket. Shameless! I will get him a new one" Aria uttered angrily then typed the style of the jacket on the search box.

Aria's eyes widened in shock on the seeing the price of the jacket.

"What! How can a jacket be this expensive?" Aria screamed in shock as she looked at the jacket on her body.

I can't afford to get this dirty or scratched. I will take care of it with my life. Aria said in her head and took of the jacket.

Alina and Nolan got to his apartment.

"You look thin but at the same time so weighty" Alina complained as she struggled to Nolan's room and fell him on the bed.

Alina stretched her arms then wiped off the sweats on her forehead.

She fell on the bed as well.

"I'm too tired to even go to my room. What a day...." Alina uttered in a sleepy tone then she dozed off without even knowing.

NEXT MORNING....

Alina opened her eyes slightly and she found Nolan staring at her passionately.

"Do you always look this good in the morning?" Nolan asked with a smile and Alina jumped out of the bed.

"Good morning professor, sorry I mean Nolan. I will wash up quickly" Alina said and walked to the door.

She turned around.

"You slept well like a pile of wood. You're such a good sleeper" Alina said sarcastically then left the room.

"What does she mean? Why do I feel like she just insulted me?" Nolan mumbled.

Alina got into the bathroom and she stood in front of the mirror. She screamed in fear on seeing her appearance.

"Ahhh!" She screamed and covered her mouth.

"I knew it. He was only trying to mock me. Does this look like anything close to good?" Alina uttered and glared at the door.

Minutes later...

Alina was done showering. She went into the other room and found a shopping bag on the bed.

"What's this?" Alina questioned and checked on the bag.

She brought out the box inside and opened it. A little paper was placed on top of the dress.

~ "you can't repeat the same cloth of yesterday. You got wasted in it last night so put this on. You can repay me some other time" ~

"He's trying to be nice and at the same time petty" Alina said as she admired the dress.

Nolan sat at the dinning table patiently waiting for Alina to come out of the bedroom.

He took glances of his wristwatch.

"This isn't some sort of interview but why am I so nervous?" Nolan uttered and gulped down a glass of water.

Alina walked out of the bedroom majestically. Nolan heard the footsteps of her heels from behind and his heartbeat raced with rhythm along with the sound of her heels.

Please don't tell on me. Nolan said referring to his heart.

"How do I look?" Alina asked as she walked to the dinning table and Nolan stood up immediately as he faced her.

"Not that bad" Nolan uttered with a blank expression on his face.

What the hell did I just say? Nolan groaned in his head.

"What?" Alina muttered out as the smile on her face disappeared.

"Let's have breakfast. I ordered some food for us" Nolan said and sat down.

"Not bad? Is that some kind of compliment or what? Shouldn't you at least drop a comment on the dress you got me?" Alina asked with a frown.

"I did that. Not bad that means good" Nolan said with his eyes fixed on his food.

Alina scoffed and sat down.

"Thanks for the food" Alina said seriously then began to eat.

They both ate in absolute quietness as Nolan found it difficult to calm his heart down so he would start a conversation.

This is so awkward. I can't just end our breakfast like that. Nolan said in his head.

"Alina, you look beautiful in the dress. Your beauty got me speechless, I'm sorry about that" Nolan said with a half smile.

Alina stared at him completely mesmerized.

"Seeing you act this way, really tells you didn't put much thought into my confession yesterday" Nolan said staring at her and Alina started coughing.

"You didn't forget about that?" Alina asked curiously and Nolan smirked.

"Why would I forget about that when you're the only one who's crowded in my mind and soul. I love you Alina and I can't deny that" Nolan said passionately.

Alina drooled at she stared at him.
