CHAPTER 21

Nolan lay his hands on her neck and removed her mask gently. Alina's heartbeat raced as he leaned forward and she felt his breath on her nose.

Alina shut her eyes as she eargerly waited for Nolan's kiss but he placed his mouth on her ears.

"Why do you want me to kiss you?" Nolan whispered in her ears and Alina pushed him away quickly.

"Forget about what I just said" Alina said about to leave the office but Nolan grabbed her hand and dragged her back to him.

He held her by the waist and leaned forward. He placed his lips on Alina's and shut his eyes. Nolan bite her lower lips slightly and they both cracked up.

"What was that?" Alina asked as she laughed.

"You told me to forget about it but I can't so you will have to put some thoughts into why you mentioned it in the first place" Nolan said.

"Do I really have to think about it before requesting for it?" Alina asked and Nolan ruffled her hair.

"If it were someone, would you have asked him for a kiss?" Nolan asked curiously and Alina held her chin.

"No way, it's not like I'm some sort of pervert or anything"

"Exactly so why did you ask me for a kiss?" Nolan asked.

"That's because I couldn't stop thinking about it" Alina uttered without even realising what she just said and she covered her mouth immediately.

"You couldn't stop thinking about it?" Nolan teased and Alina ran out of the office.

She ran to the washroom.

"Oh no, this is so embarrassing. I can't believe I just spout it out like that" Alina groaned covering her face.

She had a flashback on how Nolan bite her lower lips and she smiled brightly.

"He was almost there, why did he have to do it have way" Alina said caressing her lips.

Oh my goodness, I think I've lost it. What the hell did I just say? Why did I say that? Alina screamed in her head then put on her mask immediately.

SAM'S BOUTIQUE....

Sam was busy attending to customers when Falcon and secretary Park came inside.

"Oh, landlord you're here" Sam said with a smile.

"Sunny, please attend to the customers" Sam said to his employee then walked to Falcon.

"Greetings Mr Sam" Falcon greeted and secretary Park bowed.

"Please come with me" Sam lead them to his office.

"What kind of suit will you prefer? I've got lots of design here. Will you like to have a look?" Sam asked as he quickly brought out the design pattern magazine for him.

Falcon glanced through the whole design with a smile on his face.

"I love all of them. It's so hard for me to decide which one. I have no idea which one to choose" Falcon said with his eyes on the magazine.

"I'm so flattered" Sam said with a smile.

"Boss, should I pick one for you?" Secretary Park asked.

"Not you again, secretary Park. You know exactly what I would love and I might not like your choice this time since I've gotten attracted to so many designs here"

"Landlord, if you don't mind. What kind of occasion do you wish to wear to?" Sam asked.

"I thought I would be taking it with me to my trip but suddenly I've got tied down for some other reason. My company would be holding a party to welcome our international investors. I can't help it but stay back since they're all coming down to South Korea instead" Falcon explained.

"Oh I see, it's a grand party. For parties like that, I think this will be perfect for it" Sam said and pointed at one of the designs and Falcon smiled widely.

"Thank you so much Mr Sam. I had my mind on it as well. Thank you" Falcon said excitedly.

Secretary Park pouted.

"I've always chose his designs for him. I can't believe he pushed my opinion aside" Secretary Park whispered.

"I can hear you" Falcon uttered.

"I'm sorry boss" Secretary Park uttered and Sam laughed.

"So landlord, can I take your measurement now?" Sam asked.

"Of course, sir"

They were done taking the measurement and Sam walked them to the door.

"Mr Sam, you're so good with this business. Have you ever thought of having a brand and a franchise of your own. I'm pretty sure, so many people who are sensitive with what they put on will patronise you. All your designs are unique as well" Falcon said.

"I once thought of that but I wouldn't want my daughter to go through the same thing all over again. Having a small boutique is more than enough for me. Since we're on the topic, landlord I wish to buy this building" Sam uttered.

"Wow, Mr Sam, that's beautiful. When would you want me to process the papers?" Falcon asked excitedly.

"How about next week? I wish to make it a birthday surprise for someone" Sam said excitedly.

"Of course, I will speak to the agent. I will take my leave now" Falcon said politely but his eyes kept wondering around if he would get a glimpse of Alina around.

"She's at the hospital. She doesn't visit me that often at the boutique" Sam cut in and Falcon suddenly started coughing.

"I didn't ask of her" Falcon uttered nervously.

"You were looking around so I thought you wanted to know of her wellbeing" Sam said and Falcon nodded positively.

"I'm sorry, I made it that obvious and I'm sorry for suggesting about the franchise stuff" Falcon apologized with a bow.

Sam helped him up.

"Please don't be like this landlord. You're making me look bad. I loved it that you gave me such a suggestion because that shows you appreciate my work" Sam said politely.

"You're such a good person Mr Sam" Falcon said.

Secretary Park walked close to Falcon.

"I'm sorry boss but we have to leave now. You've got visitors at the company" Secretary Park whispered.

"I will take my leave now Mr Sam. Thank you for today, bye" Falcon said and they rushed to his car without even waiting for Sam's response.

"Lucky Alina. I guess this is her lucky year" Sam smiled then went back into the boutique.

LATER AT NIGHT....

Alina and Aria got to their usual eat out spot.

Alina laughed on her own as she fixed her eyes on the food in front of her.

Aria smirked as well with her eyes fixed on hand.

Alina noticed the smile on Aria's face then she stopped smiling.

"You seem to be in a very good mood tonight? Did something good happen at work today?" Alina asked with a smile.

"It's not like I'm in a good mood and why were you laughing earlier? I noticed you were laughing, did something good happen as well" Aria asked curiously.

"Nolan asked me to come stay at his apartment for a few days" Alina said and Aria's chopsticks dropped.

"What? Nolan? Apartment?" Aria screamed and Alina signalled her to keep it down.

"Keep your voice down" Alina said in a low tone.

"Since when did you refer to him as Nolan and what gave him the nerve to tell you such a thing? Did I perhaps miss something? Have you grown close to him?" Aria asked curiously.

"It's nothing like what you think. The both of us decided to become friends"

"Friends? After what he did to you? He was a complete bully. How did you come up with being friends with him? How did that even happen? Why the apartment all of a sudden? Is he pursuing you?" Aria threw in lots of questions and Alina laughed.

"One after the other Ria. Yes, Nolan was a complete bully but that was then before he grew to know me better and he only asked me to come stay at his apartment because of his kind gesture and I really appreciate it that he said it. When I saw his apartment, I somehow fell in love with it" Alina said with a smile.

"Wait a minute. Have you gone to his apartment before? How did you manage to fall in love with his apartment?" Aria asked curiously.

"Something happened" Alina said slowly.

"You did it with him already? That fast?" Aria screamed and Alina covered her mouth.

"What are you saying? Do what? No way, that's mission impossible. Why would you think of such a thing?" Alina gasped and Aria exhaled sharply.

"That's positive at least but what the hell happened? The last time I remember you complaining about him but right now, it seem to be a different story. What happened while I was off for two days?" Aria asked curiously.

Alina placed her hands on the table as she began to narrate to Aria everything that happened while she was around including Nolan's visit to her father and the noodles fight and kiss.

"What? The both of you kissed? As if that wasn't all, you even requested for a kiss as well?" Aria screamed with her eyes wide open.

"Ria, please keep your voice down. Do you wish to grab everyone's attention so badly? That's fine with me but not you, this place will go bizarre if people see you here" Alina whispered and Aria held her lips with her fingers.

"But no girl will hear such a thing and still keep her voice down. Do you even realise what you even did? Wow, Lina. You've got some balls, I need to borrow some from you. I've found it hard, asking a guy to have lunch with me but you asked for a kiss instead, wow, I'm impressed girl. But why would he bite your lips and just leave like that? What's his deal?" Aria asked with a frown.

"He didn't leave, I ran out instead. I'm so embarrassed right now, I can't even face him. I avoided him the whole day. It was so hectic. Before you wouldn't see him around so often but this time, it's like he's everyone. He made it so difficult for me to even hide in peace" Alina whined and Aria gulped the shot of soju on the table.

"Something's fishy. Lina, do you like that jerky professor?" Aria asked with a serious look and Alina adjusted her seat.

"Ria, please don't look at me like that. You're scaring me" Alina whispered.

"I knew it. You're a novice in this so I can't blame you like that but that jerky professor, knows exactly what's going on here and I won't spare him for turning you this way. Lina, give me your cellphone" Aria said.

"Why do you want my c..ellphone?" Alina stuttered giving the phone to Aria.

Aria took Nolan's number from Alina's phone then dialed it.

"Hello, who's this?" Nolan asked over the phone.

"It's Aria speaking. Alina's best friend. Alina told me a lot about you and I can't just trust anyone, how about you drive down here and explain to me exactly why you want to be friends with Alina" Aria said rudely over the phone.

"And why should I do that? It's not like you're her father, so why do I need your permission to be friends with her" Nolan said sarcastically over the phone.

"Alina's here with me as well" Aria threw in.

"Send me the location, I will be right there" Nolan said swiftly and Aria hung up.

"Ria, what are you planning in that head of yours?" Alina asked curiously and she smirked.

"Aren't you curious about what jerky professor feels for you because his motives doesn't seem to be clear to me. He doesn't just wants to be friends with you that's what I mean"

"How can you say such a thing?"

"Let's watch and see" Aria smirked.

Minutes later, Nolan drove down to the restaurant.

"Since you're here, how about we have some drinks?" Aria asked.

"I don't drink outside" Nolan said and Aria glared at him.

"Is that so or you're ashamed you can't handle your alcohol in from of someone" Aria taunted and quickly Nolan corked the bottle of beer open and gulped down a cup of beer.

"That felt nice" Nolan exclaimed and Alina signalled Aria to stop.

"You've cleared up your head now so tell me exactly what your intentions are of Alina" Aria said coldly.

"What do you mean?" Nolan asked and Alina bite her lower lips frustratedly.

"Why the sudden friendship and home stay with you?"

"Alina's fun to be with and I find her lovely and that's why I thought it will be fun to stay with her"

"And about the kiss?"

"I did that because I like her. Do you have a problem with that?"

"What did you just say?" Alina and Aria asked in chorus.

"You heard me right Alina. I think I've fallen for you" Nolan said after summoning all his courage.

He picked up the glass of beer and gulped down another glass of beer.
