CHAPTER 24

"Professor, what are you doing? People are watching" Alina said as she tried to break off the hug but Nolan couldn't let go.

"Please let's stay like this for a little while. I've used up all my energy in there, please allow me to refill" Nolan said softly as he caressed Alina's hair.

Alina smiled at Nolan acted clingy.

"A hug or dinner tonight?" Alina tempted and broke the hug quickly.

"I really don't want to let go but I can have a hug some other time. I can't miss the opportunity of having dinner with you" Nolan said with a cute smile.

"Cute" Alina laughed as she ruffled his hair.

"Oh, I almost forgot. I will speak with my dad today so I take some of my things to your apartment" Alina chipped in.

"Should I help you speak with your dad and help you pack as well?" Nolan asked curiously.

"Don't worry, my dad might think you've got some hidden agenda so let me talk to him and I'm only staying for a few days so I'm not bringing much with me. Professor, I have to go now, I still need to attend to some patients" Alina said calmly.

She was about taking a step but Nolan held her hand.

"Can't I just come with you? I can't bear losing sight of you even for a second" Nolan pouted as he swung Alina's hand and she laughed hard.

"Nolan, are you acting like a baby today? We're at the hospital and we need to work"

"Of course I know that but you've kept me in a tight spot. You still haven't thought of going out with me. Do I lack something? Is there something I'm lacking? It was my bad, I couldn't make myself anymore clearer about my intentions" Nolan said softly.

"Professor are you asking me out in the hospital? In front of the staffs?" Alina whispered to him.

"If I can't win up some points then I really don't care what others think or do. You're all that matters to me. My goal right now is to keep you by my side" Nolan whispered in her ears and Alina blushed.

"Stop playing around. I will leave now" Alina blushed and ran to the elevator.

The elevator danged open and a beautiful, perfect figured lady walked out of the elevator majestically.

"Baby!" She called out on seeing Nolan and she ran into his embrace.

"Honey!" Nolan called out in shock.

Alina looked at them in shock.

What the hell just happened here? Alina questioned in her head before getting into the elevator.

"Is that his girlfriend?" Alina gasped out and she tried so hard to try to get off the elevator but the button wasn't functioning.

If he has a girlfriend then why did he ask me out? Is Nolan trying to two time us? Alina questioned in her head with a frown.

Alina got off the elevator on the first floor and she angrily walked to her desk.

"I thought professor Nolan and Lillian are over. Everyone thought they were no longer together" Some nurses gossiped.

"They're so in love. I can't believe she missed him to the extent of visiting him herself after a while" The nurses gossiped in excitement and Alina hit the table hard.

"Why do you gossip so much? We've got lots of things on our hands right now, you still have the time to gossip" Alina half yelled and walked away.

"What's her deal? I guess she's jealous because her sweet times with professor Nolan is over" They mocked and Alina ran out of the hospital.

Her phone started ringing.

"Alina, it's Falcon" Falcon said over the phone on taking the call.

That jerk! He was all lovey-dovey around me but immediately his sweetheart arrived he forgot I was standing right there. Alina said in her head angrily.

"Falcon, are you free tonight? Let's meet up tonight" Alina uttered out of the blue.

"Of course I'm free tonight. Where would you want to meet up? Should I come pick you up?" Falcon asked curiously.

"Please come pick me up. I will be getting off work by 6pm" Alina informed.

FALCON'S OFFICE....

"Boss, you've got your schedule piled up for tonight so I don't you're free today" secretary Park cut in immediately Falcon was done with his call.

"What the hell are you saying? Do you have any idea how long I've waited to get a call from Alina. It doesn't matter how important the plans I've got for tonight are, just cancel all of it" Falcon said seriously.

"But today's your birthday" secretary Park said slowly and Falcon looked at him tiredly.

"It's my birthday and I hate going out on my birthdays but for the first time in my life, I want to be happy on that day. You should be happy, someone's trying to take my out of my sad world for the first time in my birthday" Falcon said and stood up from his seat.

He walked to the door but secretary Park stopped him with his words.

"I'm sorry boss, please have a lovely birthday" secretary Park said and Falcon walked out of the office.

Later that day at Margolis hospital....

Nolan walked around with Lilian.

Alina sighted them from afar and she saw the wide smile on Nolan's face as he had a friendly and intimate conversation with Lilian.

Such a jerk! He got the nerve to laugh like that to some other girl.

Alina turned around to walk to the other lobby so she doesn't have to cross paths with them.

"Alina!" Nolan called out and she turned around with a blank expression on her face.

She sluggishly walked to them and Lilian wrapped her arms around Nolan's.

Nolan didn't notice Lilian's actions but Alina noticed.

"Alina are you done with your shift for today? Hope you're not forgetting something" Nolan said and winked at her.

"Nolan, who's she? The both of you seem close?" Lilian asked.

"She's a nurse here and her name's Alina. She's my friend as well, she was the one I mentioned to you on the phone the other day" Nolan said with a smile.

"Oh I see but isn't your shift over? Why are you still putting on your mask? You seem to be professional than the professor himself" Lilian said calmly but in a mocking way.

"Honey, what are you saying? She has her reasons so don't talk like that" Nolan said.

"Sorry, baby can we go now. I'm so hungry, let's grab something to eat for dinner" Lilian said playfully as she placed her face on Nolan's arms.

Alina glared at the both of them.

What the hell is going on here? What's their relationship? Alina questioned in her head looking at them.

"Don't you want me to introduce you to Alina?" Nolan asked.

"Don't worry about that, I don't think that's necessary. She will get to know about me in no time" Lilian said as she glared at Alina.

"I'm sorry professor but I have to leave now, I've got plans for tonight" Alina said with a bow then walked away.

"Plans? What plans?" Nolan uttered curiously as he watched Alina leave.

"Don't tell me you're curious about that. She's a lady and every lady, got their own plans after work"

"What kind of plans?" Nolan asked curiously.

"Going out on blind dates or going out for partying" Lilian said and Nolan wore a blank expression.

"Alina doesn't go partying so it's a no case and she doesn't go to blind dates either" Nolan said seriously.

"Baby, you seem to know her but there's something you don't know. Not every girl is that too transparent so don't keep your hopes up" Lilian said and wore a vicious smile as she noticed Nolan wasn't staring.

"Why are we talking about just Alina? I'm the one starving here. Let's eat out, baby" Lilian pouted.

Alina was done getting changed. She headed out of the hospital but she bumped into Lilian.

"Sorry to repeat myself but what's your relationship with my baby?" Lilian threw in and Alina pursed.

"Why do you keep calling him baby, it's not like he's some sort of kid and since he's your baby, why not ask him that yourself?" Alina said rudely.

A text message popped on Alina's phone and she had a glimpse of it.

"You're already been rude only on our first day of meeting. You know first impression matters a lot right" Lilian said coldly.

"Since you know that so well then I advise you make use of it. Excuse me, I have to go now" Alina said walked away.

Falcon parked right in front of her as she walked closer to the parking lot.

Lilian witnessed it and she took a photo of it.

Such a classless girl. Does she think she can swingle her into Nolan's life? What a joke! Lilian said in her head with a serious look on her face.

Falcon drove off to a very cozy restaurant.

"Thank you. You picked me up right on time. Someone was trying to get on my nerve" Alina said calmly.

"You mean, the lady you were speaking with when I dropped you a text?" Falcon asked.

"You saw her?" Alina asked.

"Yeah and she's quite popular as well. Everyone in my line of business knows of her. At her age, she has gone far with her career and she's quite wealthy as well but she has a history of being a witch under the moonlight" Falcon mocked and Alina laughed.

"Is she that wicked or should I say evil?" Alina asked.

"She's a beauty and she uses that to lure people's investors, I guess that's her charm but don't worry, I will protect you so you don't become one of her target. She's quite a dangerous lady"

And she happens to be one of Nolan's people. How did he end up with a friend or girlfriend like that? I don't think they're in any sort of relationship, she had a threatening aura when she was talking to me. It feels like she has feelings for Nolan. Alina said in her head.

"Now I get it" Alina gasped out.

"What?"

"Oh sorry, I had a few thoughts running through my mind but I just sorted it out. Falcon, you don't seem to be in your cheerful mood today. Did something happen today?" Alina asked.

"Nothing happened. Let's place our orders" Falcon said as he fakes a smile.

They both placed an order.

"Waiter, please get us a little piece of cake as well" Alina ordered.

"Cake?"

"Yes, this is our first time eating out and I wish to make it memorable"

"Alina, can we please order for something else? I really don't ....like cakes" Falcon managed to utter.

Sweats popped up on his forehead and he kept on blinking nervously like he was under a panic attack.

Alina noticed.

"Falcon are you okay?" Alina asked curiously as she placed her palms on his forehead.

"I'm sorry Alina but I don't think I will be able to have dinner with you tonight. Please let's have dinner some other time" Falcon said seriously as he stood up and he staggered out of the restaurant after paying for the bills.

Nolan got into his car as he head to the restaurant he was to meet up with Lilian.

He put on his seatbelt and someone covered his mouth with an handkerchief and stabbed him on his stomach from behind.

"Don't get on my nerves" A voice echoed from behind then ran out of the car.

Nolan winced as he managed to take off the seatbelt, open the car door and came out slowly as he began to lose so much blood.

"Some...body help..." Nolan uttered almost in a whisper and he fell down right at that spot.
