CHAPTER 25

Falcon managed to stagger up to his car and placed a call across to his secretary.

"Come pick me up. I will text you the address" Falcon said over the phone then hung up and with his shaky hands he sent secretary Park his address.

"He doesn't look well, I can't just leave him like that" Alina gasped and she rushed out of the restaurant.

She ran to the parking lot and she saw Falcon struggling to get into his car.

"Falcon!" Alina called out and she ran to him.

She held him for support.

"Falcon, you don't look fine? Is everything okay?" Alina asked worriedly but he shoved her off.

"Alina, please leave. I'm fine" Falcon said holding his neck with his two hands.

"What are you saying? You don't look fine. You're sweating all over" Alina said anxiously and just then secretary Park arrived at their location.

He sighted them from where he was standing.

"Have it sir, thank you" Secretary Park said to the taxi driver he took with him as he paid him for his service.

Secretary Park ran to them and quickly slide his hands into falcon's pocket.

"Miss Alina, I'm sorry but I have to take it from here. You can go ahead now" Secretary Park said after helping Falcon into the car.

"I can't go now. I have to see to this till I'm sure his temperature is stable. Please take me with you, I'm pretty sure I can help him. I'm a nurse" Alina said seriously and secretary Park gave up.

He opened the front car door for Alina and they drove off to falcon's house.

"It seems to me that it's some sort of psychological problem. Can you please share with me the reason for this?" Alina asked and putting Falcon to bed in his bedroom.

She stood at the sitting room with secretary Park.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I have any right to share that with you. It's my boss's private life after all" He said defiantly.

"Stop seeing me like some sort of stranger. Can't you see I'm trying to be professional right now. Luckily enough, I've managed to put him to sleepy but we have no idea if this will continue when he wakes up" Alina said seriously and her phone started ringing.

She brought it out of her pocket and cut the call then threw it back into her pocket.

"The boss has a very tragic memory for his birthdays"

"Birthday? Is today the landlord's birthday?" Alina asked curiously.

"Yes and today's the first time he's going out for his birthday. The boss is sensitive to some words on his birthday, words like cake, candles and present since these were the things he never got for his birthdays" secretary Park explained sadly.

"Why's that?" Alina asked slowly.

"The boss lost all his family members on his birthday. Ever since he turned 10 years old, he loses a family member on his birthday. First it was his parents and one of his uncles and then his aunt that was visiting him to celebrate his birthday with him. The boss thought his birthday was a curse instead of a blessing to him. He grew up hating birthdays and he never appreciated his birthday. This is a very tragic memory of my boss so please I will appreciate it if he doesn't find out you know about this" Secretary Park said calmly and Alina nodded positively.

"I had no idea, he had such a tough life as well. I never imagined him to have such a dark past" Alina mumbled sadly and her phone kept on ringing continuously.

"I think it's important, you should take the call. I will go check if the boss is sleeping soundly" Secretary Park said and walked into the bedroom.

Alina took the call and walked to the other side.

"Nurse Alina, you're been declining my calls" A nurse half yelled over the phone.

"Bong, what's wrong? I was a little busy so I couldn't take your call. Is everything okay? You sound nervous?" Alina asked.

"Something happened Alina. Professor Nolan was stabbed in his car like an hour ago. He has been rushed into the ICU" Nurse Bong announced and Alina lost her balance in shock.

"How's his condition right now? Any update on how he's doing right now?" Alina asked curiously as she picked up her purse.

"We haven't heard anything about his current condition but we're still waiting for an update" nurse Bong said.

"Thank you for letting me know, I will be right there" Alina said and hung up.

Alina sneaked into falcon's bedroom and she signalled secretary Park that she was leaving.

"Call me when he wakes up okay" Alina said in low tone as she walked closer to falcon's bed to check on his temperature.

"Okay, thank you" Secretary Park said with a bow.

Alina was about to leave but Falcon held her hands while he was still far asleep.

"Please leave me" Falcon sleep talked.

"I'm sorry Falcon but I have to go" Alina said almost in tears as she slowly removed falcon's hands from hers.

She ran out of the room and head out of the building.

Nolan, please be safe. I hope it's nothing serious. Alina said in her head worriedly as she got into a taxi.

"Driver, please take me to Margolis hospital, hurry please" Alina said anxiously and the driver drove off.

MARGOLIS HOSPITAL.....

Lilian rushed down to the hospital on getting a call about Nolan's condition.

"How no earth did this happen? How can you all tell me, no one saw what happened to Nolan? He was right here at the hospital and no one witnessed the attack? What sort of irresponsible act is that? He's a worker here and no one seem to care about him" Lilian yelled at the nurses.

Alina ran to where they were all lined up after getting changed into her nursing clothe.

"Miss Lilian, this is an hospital. You shouldn't create s scene here and you're in no position to give orders to the nurses or workers here and right now professor Nolan is being operated on. You should stay calm and wait for the update" The director uttered professionally and Lilian glared at him.

The doctor and nurses in the operating room came out.

"The professor will be transferred to one of the VIP rooms. His pulse is stable now and he will gaining consciousness soon" The doctor announced and the chief director arrived there.

Thank you for being safe Nolan. Alina said in her head and sighed out of relief.

"What happened to my nephew? How did this happen?" The director yelled looking around.

Nolan was transferred to a VIP room and the chief director followed suit.

"How's he feeling now? The cut seem to be a little deep but I'm thankful, it didn't hurt any of his organs" The chief director said calmly to his assistant Mr Kwon.

"This looks more like a conspiracy. Professor Nolan have never undergo such sort of a threat before. I think it's related to .." Mr Kwon couldn't complete his statement because the chief director cut in.

"Let's not talk about that here. It will be quite troublesome if Nolan happens to be listening to our conversation" He said.

Lilian screamed from out the room.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry but you can't go in right now. The chief director is in there and right now, professor Nolan doesn't need much visitors so his injury doesn't get infected" A nurse said calmly and Lilian glared at her.

"Do I look like some kind of stranger to you? You all know me so well to be Nolan's friend and the chief director knows about me as well, he wouldn't have a problem with me going in right now" Lilian said rudely.

The chief director came out of the room.

"Mr Kwon, please pass out my orders. No one is allowed to go into Nolan's room. He's out of reach for the moment. Pass on my orders" Chief director said seriously and Lilian ran to him.

"Uncle, please allow me visit Nolan. Even if it's just for a minute. I won't take long in there. Please allow me see him, I've been so worried uncle" Lilian pouted.

"I'm sorry Lilian but I can't allow anyone in right now. You know so well the situation of his accident and it's still under investigation so I'm sorry I can't let you in till the investigation have been confirmed. Excuse me" The chief director said and walked away with his assistant.

Alina hide at a corner, patiently waiting for the chief director to pass by.

"Everyone's a suspect. How dare they do that to my nephew? I won't let this go that easily" Chief director said seriously and Alina came out of nowhere.

"President, please can I get a minute?" Alina requested with a bow.

"Nurse Alina?" He asked and Alina raised up her face.

"Yes, it's me president" Alina said as her face brightened up.

"How have you been and you seem to have something to say?"

"President, it might be rude of me asking about professor Nolan but I still want to ask" Alina couldn't complete her statement when the chief director cut in.

"If you're that worried then go in and check out for yourself. I think he's ready to receive visitors now" The chief director said with a smile and Alina looked at him a bit confused.

"But president, you gave out your orders that no one is allowed to go in" Alina said slowly.

"I'm giving you an opportunity to clear out your worries. Others might grab the opportunity without even looking back"

"I know president but the culprit for the accident haven't been caught yet so why? I might be the culprit, no one knows" Alina said and the chief director laughed out loud.

"This gray hairs are still working. Let's go Mr Kwon" He said with a smile then left.

They walked away and Mr Kwon threw in a question.

"President, why didn't you listen to Lilian?"

"Because she has an agenda. I can't fall into her trap so easily, I love playing hard to get to those who are desperate you see" He said seriously.

.....

Alina got to Nolan's room, she was about to go in but the director showed up out of nowhere.

"Looks like, nurse Alina you weren't informed. You're not supposed to be here because you're not among the list of nurses who will look after the professor. You should head back to the emergency ward" The director instructed rudely then walked away.

The director got to his office and a call came in through his phone.

"Of course, I can't allow a nurse with healing hands go near him, I noticed a nurse seem to be good with injured patients so I'm trying everything in my power to keep him away from her. Nolan needs to be bedridden so he would reflect on himself. He should be aware right now of who he's messing with" The director said over the phone angrily.

......

Later that night...

Alina dragged one of her nurse's friend to a corner.

"Bong, please can I sneak into professor Nolan's room. I don't mind if it's just for a minute. I'm really desperate, I have no idea who I should plead with anymore. You're my only hope right now. Please help a friend" Alina requested with her palms joined together.

"We might get in trouble if the director finds out about this but you seem to be very worried about him, I will help you out" Bong said slowly and Alina hugged her tight.

"Thank you so much Bong and the director won't notice a thing. He probably left already" Alina said excitedly and they exchanged their tags.

Alina changed her hairstyle to that of Bong's.

Alina got into Nolan's room after so much struggle not to get caught on any of the CCTV cameras.

"What happened to you? How did you end up like this?" Alina said and broke into tears.

She had a look at the spot that was operated on and she cried even more.

"Who's that crybaby?" Nolan uttered as he slowly opened his eyes.

"Nolan! You're awake?" Alina asked as her face brightened up.

"I woke up like hours ago. I told the nurses not to make a fuss about it"

Alina gave him a tight hug.

"You scared the hell out of me. Can you please stay out of trouble" Alina nagged and Nolan smiled.

"I'm sorry for making you go through that but I'm fine now. Where's my gift?" Nolan asked and Alina looked at him confused.

"What gift?"

"I've been through a lot Alina. I need an answer, I deserve that much" Nolan said as he shut his eyes.

"I will give you my answer later"Alina smiled and she leaned forward removing her mask.

Nolan opened his eyes and laughed.

He held her by the waist, staring straight into her eyes.

"Even at dying point, all I could think of is you Alina. I love you Alina and I can't wait any longer" Nolan said passionately and placed his lips on her.

He slowly felt the tenderness of her lips, slowly the kiss got deeper as Alina reciprocated the kiss.
