Chapter 19: I Need More

*MARCUS’ POV*

For the first time, perhaps ever, Marcus felt his mind go blank.

Having just been put through the emotional ringer of hearing the bitter truth of Bonnie’s past, Wolfgang took another blow to the chest when he watched the woman fold up because she felt ashamed. And when that wasn’t enough she had jumped, more like pollvolted, to the biggest fictitious conclusion possible.

‘This girl is going to be the death of me,’ he thought angrily to himself.

Marcus knew from the moment the two of them first sat down that there was more to Bonnie as a person than just her career. Whether she knew it or not, her true nature would constantly seep through the cracks of her porcelain-like exterior and bare a softness that was too good for him.

‘She is too perfect for someone like me,’ he repeated in his head. ‘She comes from a broken childhood, practically nothing, and yet, she is still too g*dd*mn perfect for me.’
