Chapter 33: Saving Face

*JULIUS’ POV*

‘I’m not obsessive. And h*ll, even if I was, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to surround yourself with what you know will make you happy,’ Julius thought.

Julius Princeton was many things. Ambitious, clever, intuitive, persistent, and self-confident. These were the reasons why so many people were attracted to his character, naturally. Being in the man’s presence often came like a plume of smoke that one could inhale and instantly feel good about themselves.

But like every other person out there, the man also racked up a hefty list of deficits as well. His ambition, of course, was hardly ever without selfish gains. His cleverness was always at the cost of someone else’s expense. Princeton’s persistence was constantly on the border of harassment. And his self-confidence?

He only possessed that because both of his parents carried beautiful genes and he was lucky enough to inherit said genes as he grew older.
