Chapter 36: To Play The Pawn

*JULIUS’ POV*

There was a reason why chess was always Julius’ favorite game to play as a child. Now that he was older, he discovered that life wasn’t too different from the game he had spent hours playing and perfecting his skills over.

It was a true game of precision. To outwit one’s opponent by formulating a plan before they even had a chance to begin was what Princeton thrived off of, watching his enemy fall apart while he dominated the board with each and every move he orchestrated.

And of all the pieces that were at his disposal to move around as he chose, the ‘Pawn’ was always his particular favorite. Of all little features the piece held, Julius always valued its disposability because in reality, a pawn was never important enough to save or protect. Its whole purpose was merely a means of reaching an end.

At least that’s what Julius always believed.
