Chapter 11: First Contact

“Any news from Maya?” Jamison asked. He stood at the end of one of the beds, his arms crossed.

“Nothing yet. I’m sure she will reach out soon. How bad were Tiago’s injuries?” Kade responded, turning his attention to Jamison. He seated himself at the desk that occupied their room to once again go over the documents he gathered about the area.

“He’d been beaten pretty badly and by the time I got to him, he had lost consciousness,” Jamison answered with a frown. “I don’t know when or how that woman got the advantage over Kit and Tiago.”

“I have the names of those who work under Angelo in this area. But without putting a face to them, I can’t confirm if our ambusher is one of them.” Kade sighed. His brows knitted together in frustration.

“I have a contact that works around here. An arms dealer and smuggler. I can get in touch with him and find out what he knows,” Jamison said, reaching into an inner pocket of his jacket to fish for his phone.
