Chapter 16: Trouble

Jamison sat on the edge of the bed. His button down shirt hung loose and open from his shoulders and his black hair had fallen forward to frame either side of his face. He heaved a soft sigh and glanced back over his shoulder to where Kade was still asleep. The regret or guilt he thought he might feel in consequence to what he agreed to the night before was absent.

In its place, he felt a strange sense of tranquility. A feeling that only made his chest warm whenever he turned to look at Kade. Blissfully asleep next to him, his long dark hair splayed out across the pillows and his features relaxed into a peaceful slumber. Jamison had to fight the urge to reach over and touch his face, especially now that he knew how soft his skin was and how warm it felt under his hands.
