Chapter 24: Two Years Ago

*At the Monroe Manor, two years prior to current events*

“Kade, there’s a few things I want to show you today and I’ll need you to take this seriously,” Warren stated. His voice was firm while he turned to look over his son.

Kade had just seated on one of the couches that occupied his father’s office. He followed him in here at his request, but honestly had little interest in lingering for too long. When it came to taking over the organization at any time in the future, Kade didn’t feel there was an immediate need for him to learn everything there was to know about it.

As far as he was concerned, he had plenty of time to start really taking all of this business prep seriously. This was their family business though, as crooked as it was, and his father was proud of that. So, he would at least humor the man for the time being, especially since he had nothing else to do that day.
