Chapter 28: Setting the Battlefield

“Well, well, looks like Kit lied to us after all.” The muscular man snorted the moment Kade stepped out of the car.

“I understand the two of you are responsible for the death of one of mine. You know that makes you guilty of being traitors to the organization, don’t you?” Kade said. He was sure to keep his tone cool and refused to allow any emotion to touch his features.

“Tsk, like we care. The only boss we’ll follow is Angelo,” the muscular man scoffed. A terrible grin found its way across his features. It was clear that he found Kade amusing.

“All of this could have been resolved if you’d just stepped aside at the meeting. Mr. White was kind enough to try and offer you a deal.” This came from the well dressed man. He spoke with an even tone as well. A tone that was as dead as the look on his face.
