Chapter 49: One Last Fight

Jamison settled Kade down on the first soft surface that he could find. In this case, it was the couch in the front room of the lake house. Upon entering the cabin, he rushed over to it and gently set him down. Then, together with Maya, they worked to get Kade’s soaked shirt peeled off his body, so the wound could be treated. It wasn’t until after he was cleaned of blood, both dried and fresh that Jamison got a better look at the wound to Kade’s shoulder.

There were several bullet holes in his shoulder, indicating that he had taken a blast rather than just a few gun shots. That told Jamison that he had been hit with a shotgun and for the damage it had done, Jamison was glad it hadn’t been worse. It was severe enough that he still had been slowly bleeding out since the wound was inflicted, but a blast from a shotgun could have easily blown him away completely. Angelo hadn’t been planning to play fair, it seemed.
