Chapter 12: And Settling Anger

Willow rubbed her eyes as Lilith pulled her lab coat off her face. “What was that all about?” Lilith asked.

Willow snorted. “Him visiting, my last name, or just in general?”

“All of the above,” Lilith replied, and with surprising speed, started to fold the lab coat in her hands, keeping it clean of creases as she let it rest on her crossed arms.

“Hmfph,” Willow grunted, and leaned back in her chair.

Her life had certainly taken a turn for the interesting, but whether or not it was for the better remained to be seen. Still, there was one positive thing Willow noted that had emerged from today.

Lilith was a big help.

She had set and booked appointments, kept patients from freaking out, and made sure that the more fantastical ones didn’t cause too much trouble.

Without her, Willow would have likely lost a few hairs. Plus, it was a sobering thought that fantastical or not, mundane or not, Willow quietly noted that without help, she would likely be overworked in a matter of days.
