Chapter 26: Come (Un)alive

Willow’s hands moved on their own. Moorehouse was tossed to the side like trash, and Lilith now laid upon the operating table in his place. All emotion was gone from Willow’s eyes as she entered a realm of focus she had never once experienced before.

There was a bullet in Lilith, near the heart. Lead, not silver.

Lilith was weakened due to her time in the coffin, which had been laced with garlic. What’s more, they were over running water.

End result: Lilith was in critical condition and needed a blood transfusion. Willow couldn’t offer her own, she needed to remain upright.

But thankfully, the good doctor Moorehouse was a similar blood type and had proven to be a respectable, if unconscious, donor. Thankfully, the IV drip he had set up previously made injecting it into Lilith’s veins all the more easier.

She hoped that by doing so, Lilith wouldn’t turn into an egotistical maniac.

But even that was preferable, so long she kept Lilith alive.
