Chapter 46: Hell’s coming with me

“Come home? What does that mean?” Mary asked. “And what happened to Willow?! Where is she?!”

“I…” Lilith pressed a hand against her head.

She never thought her uncle would be so bold, yet it was the only explanation. Mary had explored the premises of the clinic for Willow and had come up short. It was as if Willow had vanished into thin air, and there was only one possible explanation for it.

“Ethel,” Mary’s eyes became narrowed as she glared. “What happened?”

“M-my uncle,” she began. “He must…he must have…”

Lilith slumped against the wall and fell onto her rear. She cupped a hand to her head, to her eyes, and held back a restrained cry.

Mary kneeled in front of her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “Hey, hey, easy. The note said that he wants you to come home, right?”

“Y-yes,” Lilith said. “B-but why? Is he going to—”

Lilith’s mind flashed, and the image of Moorehouse hanging from the building.

“N-no, he wouldn’t!”
