Chapter 45: Distractions can only last so long.

The following morning, Lilith still didn’t feel any better, even as she rode through town, covered in a heavy hood, sunglasses, and sunscreen with Willow.

“…I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen your car,” Lilith said.

“Have you ever ridden in cars before?” Willow returned.

“Of course, I have,” Lilith replied. “I just don’t own one.”

“How do you get across the city?”

“Rooftops.”

“…Okay, but what if you needed to leave it for whatever reason?”

Lilith didn’t have the heart, or the strength at the moment, to say the actual method, so she settled for leaning back, and thinking about Morgan. He hadn’t shown himself since last night, nor had he made any moves against any other Myths, as far as she knew.

That meant he was biding his time or was running out of town.

Neither option sat well with Lilith, but she had no idea what to do next.
