Chapter 10: The Li’zans.

Aza'zel made his way through the corpses as they slowly bled out and turned cold.

Looking down the narrow tunnel in which one must crawl or crouch just to get past and enter the hideout, he hesitated.

Entering in such an awkward pose would have left him at a disadvantage were he to encounter a few vultures who remained behind. After giving it some thought, he stretched out a hand as it pulsed with source energy, rippling toward his shadow.

After much deliberation, Aza'zel cast the shadow beast spell and summoned a feline creature around knee height, ordering it to go inside and be on the lookout for any living beings with malicious intent within them.

This shadow beast didn't have any fighting capabilities per se, but its intelligence was adequate to sense danger and ill intent. The shadow beast slowly advanced through the narrow tunnel, making sure to inspect its immediate vicinity of any living forms, be it large or small.
