"Bradley is dressed rather casually," Rose replied, her tone conspiratorial. "This new look just saved you from looking desperate."
"Thank goodness," Lucia said, relieved, as she picked up her bag. "I'm off."
Rose moved to hug her, discreetly slipping something into Lucia's bag. As soon as she was done, she pushed Lucia out the door. "Go, go! Don't keep the man waiting,"
"Will you stop pushing?" Lucia said
"No." Rose said, giving her one last push.
…
In the living room, Bradley stood, his gaze fixed on a picture on the wall of Lucia from her high school days. As Lucia stepped out of her room, she couldn't help but notice him standing there. She had to admit, he looked quite handsome in that moment. Taking a deep breath, she walked up to him.
"Hey," she said, her voice soft as she approached him. Bradley looked up, his eyes meeting hers, and a warm smile spread across his face.
"You look beautiful," he said.
