"What?" Ren asked him as she caught him gazing at her time to time.
"I would be so mad if you lied to me." He informed her.
"Why on earth would I care for your feelings? If you don't even care about immigrant feelings?" Ren looked at him disgusted.
Yoongi looked back at her and answered. "Well, your immigrant turned you in. How does that feel?"
Ren smiled as she looked away and thought how people don't look at the whole picture.
"You know. I question myself why someone like him would tell on their coyote that is trying to help him cross over. Like why?" She couldn't help her smile.
Yoongi said. "There's coyotes that leave those people behind."
"But why?" She asked.
Yoongi sighed. "I ask myself why YOU would leave him behind?"
Yoongi phone began to ring and he answered as he parked the truck on the side of the road.
"What? They caught her?! Are you sure it's her?" He looked at Ren that was sitting right next to him and then away.
"He confirmed it was her! She escaped?! How?! Ugh! Did you guys get her information? No?! What?! Why?!" Yoongi was just going crazy with all this information.
He turned to look at her.
"Will you have me handcuffed forever?" She smirked at him. He got off the truck and opened her door. He took the handcuffs off and she laughed.
"You know. I wonder what Jose did to his coyote for her to ditch him in the middle of nowhere." She smirked as she walked around him to walk home but he pulled her towards him.
She couldn't help but smile as she was testing his patience.
"How do you know that?!" He questioned her very aggressively.
"I don't know. It's just a hypothesis that you just confirmed. Thanks, since you didn't want to answer me in the truck. Now, I got my answer the hard way." She pulled away from him.
"You know what? I should still take you in."
"For what?! I should take you in for always being in my business!"
"That's my job!"
"That's why no one likes you! You just always want to be near me cause you're all lonely!!" Ren walked away.
"Hey! Get back here. I'm not done talking to you."
Ren turned back to look at him. "See! Look, we have nothing to talk about. By the way, we aren't friends anymore."
"This is my job. If something is wrong I have to do what I have to do. Just understand."
"Will you understand the American dream?" She questioned him.
He didn't say anything to her and she turned around to walk away. Surprisedly, he didn't stop her and she took out her phone to call J-hope.
"Yeah, I'm ok. Look, my phone is about to die. I-" Ren phone died and she looked at it unbelievably.
"Shit, I can't go home cause I don't even know where we are located now. Fuk!" Ren began to panick as she recalled.
Yoongi sighed. "I'll give you left."
"Don't." Ren was still mad at him.
"Look, I'm sorry I arrested you. Put yourself in my shoes please. What would you have done?"
Ren turned to look back at him. "I don't want to talk to you."
"You see you don't even have an answer."
"I do!"
"Then what is it?!"
"I would have let you go!"
Silence made them pause.
"Why?" He continued.
"Cause I would have trusted you."
Silence took over for awhile and he sighed.
"You would have been fired..."
"I don't care."
"Imagine you got fired from your dream job." He suggested to her. However, Ren didn't have a dream job. I mean crossing people over was her job but was it a dream you study for? Was it something she could say out loud and proud?
"Look, I'm sorry Ren. I made a mistake that it was you but it wasn't. I just had to follow the rules."
Ren nodded her head. "Yeah, I'm sorry for hating your dream job. I mean I guess I'm so used to changing people that it makes me forget I can't change everyones prospective. There will always be someone out there who doesn't like you."
Yoongi nodded and said. "I get it. You don't like me."
Ren chuckled. "I was giving an example."
"So, we're friends again?"
"No, just strangers for now."
Yoongi nodded he head. "Where can I take you?"
Ren eyes shifted away.
"What?"
Ren said. "I'll walk."
"Bullshit, it's late as hell and you want to walk. You really think I'm crazy to let you go like that?"
Ren sighed. "Maybe, I should've got arrested today."
"Why?" He looked at her crazy.
"I would have been able to charge my phone."
Yoongi sighed. "You really are crazy. Let's go."
"What? Where?" Ren looked at him as he got in his truck.
"Obviously, you don't have a place to stay at. I'll let you spend the night over at my place."
"What?! I will not."
"While, you think. Can you get in? I'm starving and want to go home. I'm sure you are too since you didn't get to eat earlier."
Ren hesitated before getting in but she had no where to go.
"Who were those two guys with you?" Yoongi asked.
"Are you still working?" Ren asked as she rubbed her wrist.
"No, my shift is over."
"Then why are you still in my business?" Ren glared at him.
"Sorry, I'm just trying to start a conversation with you." Yoongi informed her.
Ren grew silent and looked out the window. She began to see people out the window who were looking at her like she was arrested. Ren blushed and looked down at her hands.
"What?" Yoongi asked her.
"Your people think you have a criminal in your truck." Ren mumbled.
Yoongi replied. "Don't worry about them. They know I'm doing my job."
Ren chuckled. "How many neighbors are close to you?"
"We all live by each-"
"No. How many get along with you? Like actually, like you?" Ren gazed at him.
Yoongi said. "Doesn't matter. They don't pay me."
Ren eyebrows rose up. "One day you could need them and they probably won't help you. You should try to be their friends or get close to them."
Yoongi sighed. "Like you said not everyone likes everybody."
Ren began to laugh and he looked at her.
"Are you laughing at me?" Yoongi was very offended.
"This is what your dream job does to you? Make you lonely?"
"I don't mind. I'm getting used to it."
Ren furrowed her eyebrows and remembered his mom passed away.
"Your parents are???"
Yoongi looked away. "They were murdered by immigrants."
Ren grew silent and began to have many questions in mind.
"That's why you do this job?" Ren asked.
Yoongi nodded and she noticed how he looked very upset now.
"I'm sorry for your loss." Ren added and then looked away. She began to think how he would never accept immigrants because they are the reason why his parents are gone. Yet, again they hurt the community but keep it safe too.
He parked the truck and she got off. Ren examined the place around and saw some kids playing until they saw Yoongi. They immediately ran inside and some neighbors that were watering their plants also went inside. Ren had never experienced that before but Yoongi was used to it.
"What do you think?" Yoongi asked.
She looked at his house and it was pretty decent. Two floors for an unknown reason like if he had a big family.
"You live alone?" Ren questioned the size of his house.
"Yeah it's just me. I couldn't find a smaller house so... I just got this one." Yoongi gave her a warm smile.
"Actually, it's good you got this."
"Why?"
"For when you start a family you-"
"I won't start a family."
"Oh, well for your girlfriend or wife." Ren smiled.
"No wife or girlfriend."
Ren eyes widen and blushed. "You're gay?"
Yoongi turned to look at her. "No, I'm not but we wouldn't last."
"You don't know that."
"I do."
"How?"
"My parents aren't here. I wouldn't want that to happen to my wife or kids. I wouldn't bare the pain..." His voice cracked a little and then headed to the door to open it.
"This dude has gone through some deep shit all cause of his job. Is it worth it?" Ren asked herself.
