Kazuo's Revenge

Hello everyone! I am a budding dark fantasy author and mangaka from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. As an otaku, I grew up on mainstream shōnen and I wanted to craft a story that drew elements from it but with darker themes that cater to a more mature/seinen audience. Kazuo's Revenge [KR], the first book in a two-part series, is inspired by some of my favourite anime, manga and fantasy novels. My main mangaka influences are Hajime Isayama, Masashi Kishimoto, Gege Akutami, Hirohiko Araki, Noriaki Kubo and Kentaro Miura. KR is set in an alternate Japan during the early Meiji period with most of the prefectures, places, and some landmarks renamed. In the land of Nihon, each village/country has its own set of governing rules/systems, leaders and enforcers set up to ensure that those rules are followed by the masses. KR is an action packed and fast-paced dark fantasy seinen novel. It's got adventure, character development, a cool magic system, world-building, plot twists, betrayals and a bit of comedy/romance. Book one (first draft) is already done and available to read here. As I do the editing with an editor, I am also working working on the second and final installment of the series. This is my absolute favorite novel so far! I can't wait for more updates. If you love a powerful MC and a dynamic relationship between the leads, you'll devour this story.

I am a fan of revenge stories and the seinen genre. The world and characters of the story are also described in great detail. Moreover, there are quite a few episodes even at esrly stages. It drew me in, I recommend it.

A fast paced story with action packed fight scenes and an intricate magic system. I also loved the world building and inspiration of real world east asian mythology. Reads like a blend of dark battle shōnen and seinen anime. Highly recommend it!

I just finished the first few chapters and I'm hooked. The world-building is fantastic with some intricate Japanese words mixed in between and the characters are so well-developed. Can't wait for more updates and to see where Kazuo's journey takes him next.
