Chapter 13 – Company Work and Life

Asuka's POV

At 8:22 a.m., we arrived at our first stop, the Mukuza Construction Company, and the driver get off to open the door. Niko then grabbed her purse and a folder of documents and get off the limousine while saying, "I'm off, big brother!"

"Okay, have a good day, sis," I responded back as Akihito and Aki peek through the limousine window.

"Woah, that's a construction site," Aki commented.

"Where's the company building?" Akihito asked me.

I then pointed at a building next to the construction area and answered back, "There."

They then looked at that building, and they were a bit surprised.

The company building might be ordinary due to my father's habit of being modest, but it houses the entirety of this construction company with no extensions whatsoever.

Then, the driver asked me if I'm going to get off.

"No," I answered back. "I'm in a different company."

"Oh, right, right," the driver get what I had said, "sorry."

He then closed the door and went in at the driver's seat, before shifting the gear to Drive, and the limousine left the place and towards our destination, my mother's company.

Along the way, I got a call from Yumiko, the company's secretary, and I answered it with, "Hello, good morning. What is it?"

"You have a meeting at 10," Yumiko responded back.

"Okay, with who?" I asked.

"The board of directors," she replied back.

"I see, I'll be there at approximately 9," I responded back. "Prepare the latest info of the company's revenue and profits at my desk."

"Got it, sir" Yumiko replied.

She and I then ended our conversation.

After that, Akihito asked, "Who's on the phone?"

"That would be Yumiko, my secretary," I replied back, "and I had a meeting at 10 with the company's board of directors."

"Okay then," Akihito responded.

"That's like a typical happening for an average company," Aki commented.

"Yeah, it was."

By 9:01 a.m., we had arrived in front of my mother's company, Huyu Technologies, and the driver get off once more to open the door for us. I then grabbed my messenger bag, and me and the two assassins get off the limousine, before glancing at the exterior front of the company building.

"Woah, this is like a typical company," Akihito commented.

We then all entered the building via the front door in the lobby. Once inside, the receptionist greeted to us with a bow, "Good morning, sir."

"Good morning to you, too," I greeted back.

Yeah, according to my mother's last will, all employees of her company are not required to address me formally, just casually instead, whenever I came for work.

"This lobby here is a bit classy," Aki commented.

"Yes, but still good and modest," I responded as we walked through the lobby and to one of the elevators.

I then pressed the button that goes up, and the moments later, the door of the elevator opened up.

We then went in, and I pressed the button that takes us to the top floor, the 7th floor, where my office is.

While waiting for the elevator to go to the top floor, Akihito asked me, "So, does your mom's company make any profit?"

I then looked at him and Aki and answered, "Yes, but we are not for the money at all, although improvements would cost most of our revenue."

"You seemed to care about the quality of this company's services, right?" Aki asked a question.

I then glanced back at the doors.

"Yes, of course," I replied back.
