Chapter 23 – A popular guy in school

Third person POV

As time passed, dynamics between the child assassins and their slaves steadily evolved into a friendship between them. Akihito and Aki felt indebted to Asuka and Niko for helping them study for the recent exam at school. And also, at the same time, the household staff became close to Asuka and Niko because of their help and guidance in taking care of the palatial house.

One day, at school, things are normal for the four of them in their respective classrooms as normal students. Asuka, Akihito, and Aki acted as normal to hide their secret relationship from their classmates. Niko also act normally as a typical plain jane girl in her class. Then, back at Asuka's class, a handsome boy, with blonde hair and green, emerald eyes, came to class, attracting a harem-like group of girls to him in admiration.

"Hello there, girls," that boy, Kōji Nakano, said to them with a charming look on his face.

Upon seeing that, Asuka and his two masters are annoyed and not happy about that.

The reason why is that Kōji is not only handsome, but also had a habit of looking down on other people, especially to those who were of average looks or socioeconomic class.

"Not him again…" Asuka commented while sitting far from Kōji.

"Yes, that's him alright," Aki responded to him.

"That guy is rich, you know," Akihito added with a fact.

Asuka then glanced at him. "Is that so?"

Akihito then nodded. "Yes, in fact, Kōji-kun is from a rich family that owns a handful of business conglomerates here in Japan, much larger than your late mother's company."

Asuka got it and didn't made a comparison between his late mother's IT company and the vast and big conglomerates Kōji's family owns as of now.

He didn't like the idea of comparing anything that he has to others.

But then, Kōji looked at Asuka and went to him, leaving the girls behind. "Hey there, poor boy," he greeted with a bully-like tone on his voice.

"Yeah, morning," Asuka replied back while trying not to make an eye contact with him.

"You looked like average and poor as usual." Kōji laughed at him.

Asuka tried not to do an outburst because it wasn't nice at all.

But Akihito couldn't bear to see Asuka being bullied and belittled like this, so he stood and confronted Kōji. "Hey, you better leave this person alone. He wants to have an ordinary life here in school."

"Then who are you, huh?" Kōji tried to intimidate him in response.

Asuka saw how Akihito was defending him.

"That doesn't matter," Akihito replied to Kōji seriously, "you should stop bullying people for your pleasure. Economic classes don't matter."

This really pissed Kōji off, prompting him to stop his bullying on Asuka. "You better prepare for my coming retribution, you silver weirdo."

He then left them alone and went back to his seat, causing his harem-like group of fangirls to go to his desk in still admiration on their faces for him.

After that, Asuka looked at Akihito. "Hey, thanks." Akihito then smiled. "No problem, anytime, Asuka-kun." As Akihito went back to his seat, Aki gave Asuka a thumbs-up. Asuka saw that and positively nodded, before going back to reading his book. This created a secret communication between them without everyone knowing their friendship and relationship as masters and slaves.
