Friends found(Short Chapter)

We pulled up to Shawn's crib, Shawn is one of our closest friends. He is a nerd among nerds, he and his brother Mathew are always bickering, and they practically hate each other's guts. Matthew is still young and he really likes video games, just like me and Hayden, however I am more of an athlete. Hayden is just a gamer but he is very smart, and one of our other friends was coming from Pennsylvania on a vacation to Oklahoma. So she visited Shawn and Mathew while she was there. Her name is Lilly, she is very short and also likes video games. She actually went to a school that taught some military type of training, it's a weird school. But anyway we knocked on Shawn's door hoping that they were okay, after a few minutes of pounding on the door. Shawn opened the door and I was so happy that I started crying. All three of them were there and alive. They were very surprised to see us, thinking we would never get back from Texas. But we did, and now it was time to share stories.

After we were done telling our story, Shawn started to speak, telling us what had happened to him while we were still in Texas. When the outbreak started Shawn, Mathew and Lilly were watching the gaming competition when all of a sudden a person came up on the main stage all the gamers were, and started mauling a man, everyone gasped, and were intently watching, except for Matthew, he was huddled up in a ball, then an emergency broadcast appeared on the tv, saying to shut and lock all doors, board up windows, and to not let anyone inside no matter what. They were confused about what was happening, so they tried to call Hayden and me. But they couldn't reach us, as in Texas the phone signal was down. After the emergency broadcast played on loop a few times, the tv showed what was happening in Texas, there were crashing helicopters, people getting eaten alive, it was a very scary thing to see, they were all terrified, Lilly and Matthew started to have a panic attack, and thought something bad might've happened to us, Shawn, who was a hardcore fan of zombie games, immediately started prepping, like the nerd he was, he counted his supplies, and knew that he had to ration it, Shawn's and Lilly's families both also saw the broadcast with them, they were trying to call their friends and neighbors, trying to understand what was happening, to no avail.

After Shawn told us their story we told them about what had happened to mine and Hayden's family, everyone started to apologize and say how sorry they were for what happened to us. Most of them started to hug Landon, who was crying sitting next to Hayden. "At this point, we only have a few days worth of food, and that's if we eat once a day each." Shawn said. "Okay, so what should we do?" Lilly asked. "Simple, we need a group to go out and gather resources. And a group to stay here to guard this place and fortify it. Right now nothing is fortified. We need to board the windows, quietly mind you, the zombies will be attracted to noise. I'm not sure how they didn't hear Hayden banging on the door." He passes Hayden a glance, "We will also need to get as much water as possible, I'm not sure how it was in Texas, but we still have running water, so we need to fill as many cups, bowls, whatever we can get our hands on with water. At some point it will run out."

After some thought. A group of people were selected to go outside, Shawn's mom, and Lilly's mom and dad. "So this is the group for supplies?" They nodded, "Alright, at noon you should all-" He was cut off by Hayden, "I would like to go outside to look for supplies too." He said. "Are you sure, I don't know if that's a good idea." I said, worrying. "It's fine, I don't care if it's dangerous or not. I still want to go." After a bit of convincing, Hayden was allowed onto the supplies gathering team. As for me, I wanted to have a rest, I haven't had proper sleep in a few days, so I found my way onto the couch, and fell asleep.
