Dangerous Forest

Heading towards the exit from the village, Andrei hoped that he could find a habitat for the newly converted bloodsuckers.

Checking his menu again, he did not see a card button anywhere, which meant he would have to buy a card in due course.

Of course, he wanted to have a detailed map of this world, but it was most likely prohibitively expensive or did not exist at all.

Therefore, Andrei hoped to get at least a map of this region. He didn't know anything about this world other than that it was unusually huge for any MMO game.

And the fact that he saw a bookstore gave him a hint that if there were any kinds of spell, they had to be studied through books. Putting these thoughts aside in his head, Andrey decided to focus on the task that he had.

Leaving the walls of the village in which he appeared and looking back, a beautiful view appeared before him. Away from him were snow-capped mountains, the peaks of which rushed into the sky.

Below, there was a beautiful forest of different trees, iridescent leaves of trees gave a fabulous look to this place.

Grass that is bright green, Andrey, who grew up in a city that was surrounded by forest, found a beautiful view of this forest.

Clutching the book in his hand, he began to walk slowly towards the forest. He was either lucky that there were no monsters and animals at the entrance to the forest, or the players had already exterminated everyone here. Taking a deep breath, he smelled the pleasant smell of the forest.

The sun's rays lightly penetrated through the branches of the trees, there was a familiar sound of trees coming from the trees. Feeling how the mood rises to a new level. Andrey went deep into the forest until he heard any sounds or voices of the players.

He continued to walk cautiously, fearing that someone might appear unexpectedly, if within the village there was a minimal chance of an attack from the players, then here he was many times more.

Going deeper into the forest, he thought about where his goals could live, if the developers wrote them off from the vampires described in the literature, then most likely they were now hiding somewhere until nightfall.

Not knowing where they could be hiding, he could only continue to explore the forest and listen to the noises of the forest.

Transferring the book to in his right hand and placing his hand on the hilt of the sword, he felt the calmness that the blade gave.

Passing by one of the trees, he noticed a corpse, wondering whose body it might be. Doubting that this is the body of a local resident, unless he was some kind of quest corpse.

But after thinking it over, he did not see similar tasks in the book, which means it was most likely not a quest. Carefully looking around, looking for possible killers, but seeing no one. Andrey, bending down and trying not to make noise, began to slowly approach the corpse.

Once next to him, examining the body, according to his assumption it was a player, he was dressed in the same clothes as Andrei, a grimace of horror caught on the player's face.

Sitting next to the corpse, he began to carefully examine the place. He was not a tracker, but even without being one, he saw that the player was trying to crawl away from someone or something. Having looked where the bloody footprints were stretching, Andrey came to the conclusion that the player crawled a long way before his death.

Deciding to examine the player's body for wounds, by which Andrey can try to understand whether the player was killed by an inhabitant of the forest or another player.

There were wounds all over the body from the neck going down to the waist, where there was a deep wound and a large piece of flesh was missing from which already blackened blood flowed.

Checking the wounds, some of them looked like multiple bites from someone resembling a human.

Other wounds resembled claw marks stretching along a torn shirt, wanting to verify his suspicions, Andrei turned over the body, which had already begun to cool.

Seeing multiple cuts of something sharp, he felt how fear began to creep up on him and thoughts.

What if this player, like him, tried to find these bloodsuckers? Or maybe he stumbled upon them by accident and they killed him? But having driven away these thoughts, if they were like vampires, then why is the body not devoid of blood?

At this moment, Andrey regretted that in this game, there was no information about the monsters that lived.

But most of all, he was shocked that the corpse of the player did not disappear, but remained. Being in the grip of fear, he again checked the possibility of exiting the game.

After he made sure that the exit worked, he exhaled quietly, Andrey felt his heart beating wildly.

After doing this a few times, he felt that it was calming down. Interested in whether other things remain after the death of the character, Andrey began to probe the pockets of the corpse.

Already thinking that either the player did not find anything, or maybe things disappeared when he died and were waiting for the player to enter. But running his hand along one of the front pockets, he felt something round.

Raising his pocket with one hand and fighting the desire to vomit his stomach, Andrey put the book next to him and put his hand in his pocket.

Feeling something round and metallic to the touch, he took this thing with his finger and pulled it out of his pocket. Removing his hand from the dead player, he turned his gaze to what he held in his hands.

It was a small gilded medallion, which was held on by a thin gold chain.

- Where did you manage to grab this little thing if the game had just begun? - Thoughtfully turned said Andrew frowning examining the medallion.

But the corpse did not tell him anything, after examining it again, Andrei, trying not to make noise, slowly returned to where he saw the corpse.

This game began to scare him, but at the same time he felt a strange interest that began to appear in him.

Listening attentively to the forest and peering into the bush, Andrei continued on his way, pondering what he had just learned.

The corpses of the players do not disappear, and the things that he had with him remain on the corpse. And this meant that you had to either store things somewhere like a bank or carry them with you at your own peril and risk.

It reminded him of one of the old games where, after the death of a player, things and corpses remained and the players could take things from the corpses and take them with them.

Have the developers decided to make life as difficult as possible for the players?

Now, most likely, all over the game world, players were killing each other. Someone was a PVP lover and someone did not share the monsters.

And then Andrei caught on one strange thought, if the players had been here in front of him and killed monsters and animals, then why didn't a single creature appear?

He tried to find a logical explanation for why the monsters had not yet appeared, but after seeing the corpse, Andrey began to have an idea.

And if in this game monsters and animals, like real life, do not appear immediately, but gradually grow?

But the players still did not know if there were levels at all or if there was something else. Was there a need to hunt and kill monsters without knowing if it brings the player some kind of experience to reach the level or something else?

Questions filled Andrei's head, no matter how hard he tried, he could not find an answer to more than one. And the game had just begun, he was wondering what the game would bring him, unconsciously he smiled.

He was frightened by the possibility of dying and also remaining lying on the ground like a player in front of him. But on the other hand, it is better to try to take risks than to be afraid to do something.

Continuing to walk into the depths of the forest, Andrey began to notice how daylight began to penetrate less into the forest.

Looking around, he found this place suitable for the habitation of bloodsuckers. It was quite dark here, and such monsters could not be afraid of constant sunlight.

And the most unusual thing in this place was Andrey felt cold. He knew that it was always cool in the forest, but not so much.

Continuing to walk slowly and looking around, Andrei tried to listen, but his calmness was disturbed by the fact that there were no sounds of animals or monsters. Only the sounds of trees and branches that swayed from the wind.

Anxiety and memories of the found corpse did not leave him, but not finding a threat, he slowly moved on.
