Strange trees that had a bright blue trunk and the leaves had a soft pink color began to come across more and more.
Andrey was interested in what inspired people to create such trees. He began to calm down when he heard quick, multiple footsteps in his direction.
Clutching the book, and with the other hand the hilt of the sword, he decided to hide behind a tree and see who ran here. The sounds of footsteps were getting closer to him, Andrey, in anticipation, held his breath, looking at the place from where someone should have come out according to the sounds.
Uninvited guests were not long in coming, first one individual appeared and then the rest.
They resembled humans, but unlike them, these monsters had long claws, the creatures were thin and constantly twitching.
They were not tall, they were dressed in torn clothes, on which Andrei noticed bloody footprints. The head had a number of differences from the human, the ears were elongated upwards with a pointed tip.
Their nose was flattened and looked like a surgeon had removed a bone from it. From the constant open mouth, large fangs were visible above and below that could tear apart both animals and other monsters.
Their eyes were larger than those of humans and had a strange red color. Swallowing from the fear that gripped him, Andrei tightly gripped the hilt of the sword, the monsters constantly raised their heads and, as he understood, they were looking for someone.
He didn't need to consult the quest sheet, he realized that he had found the bloodsuckers, or they were his. Trying to breathe slowly and not move, he began to carefully examine the monsters.
There were 6 of them as stated in the quest, but he had concerns. When he wanted to start walking slowly back. One of the monsters sniffed and looked straight in his direction. Shouting something gutturally to his relatives, he ran to Andrei.
Watching the bloodsucker running towards him, Andrei threw down the book and jerked his sword out of its scabbard. Holding the sword with both hands, he waited for the monster to be in his attack zone.
He did not know how strong and most importantly what dexterity they had. After waiting for the bloodsucker to be in the zone of his strike, he swung and hit a backhand.
He felt resistance against something, looking at what his sword was resting on. And to his horror, he saw how the bloodsucker blocked the blow of the sword with one hand and reached for it with the other hand.
Taking a couple of steps back, he heard these guttural sounds again, taking the hilt of the sword tighter, he waited for this monster to attack.
Andrei understood that it was not possible to run, they would catch up with him and kill him very quickly.
But for some reason, the monster was in no hurry to attack him. The remaining bloodsuckers could be heard approaching.
He had no choice but to try to kill at least one. Making a quick movement towards the monster, he delivered a quick downward blow, aiming at the bloodsucker in the chest.
The monster tried to raise its hand and block again with its claws. But due to the release of adrenaline, Andrey struck faster than the monster had time to substitute its claws.
There was the sound of cutting flesh and the crunch of breaking bones, the bloodsucker screamed in pain and tried to hit him with his other hand.
Andrei with a quick step turned out to be on his side and hit the monster's head with a backhand. Feeling how the sword once again penetrates into something soft, he continued to push the sword deeper and deeper.
His sword is stuck in the bloodsucker's skull. Cursing his bad luck, he tried with several jerks to wrest the sword from the dead bloodsucker, which began to fall on him.
With the last of his strength, pulling the sword up, Andrei released the sword, looking around, to his horror, he saw that he was surrounded by the remaining monsters.
Glancing from one monster to another, he rested his back against a tree. The monsters grinned, and their fangs clicked menacingly.
He understood that most likely this would be his first death in this game. Unexpectedly, even for himself, he laughed and ran screaming at one of the bloodsuckers.
The monster he ran to did not expect such behavior from the victim. With a surprised guttural sound, the monster felt pain in one of his arms.
Turning his gaze to the place where it hurt, he saw how his dark red blood poured onto the ground. He shouted furiously to his compatriots in a guttural voice, they rushed at Andrei.
- Come creatures! - He shouted at the top of his voice, not understanding what he was doing, running at them at that moment Andrei did not understand anything.
To his surprise, they interfered with each other by leaning on him in a crowd, Andrei felt their fetid breath. They swung their claws in an attempt to pierce him but hurt their own who were in front.
Andrei wielded his sword at the claws and the bodies of the monsters, a terrible symphony of guttural screams resounded around him. He didn't feel the pain from the wounds he received from the monsters' claws.
Gradually, it began to seem to him that the bloodsuckers became slower, clenching his teeth, he continued this strange dance with his death.
Andrei did not notice how at first one bloodsucker fell. He had no time for continuing to wield his sword and try to block it and fend off claw attacks aimed at his throat and chest. The guttural sounds became less and less, as did the beats.
Over time, he got used to fighting against them, when there were two of them left, one looked around and tried to run away, but he died with a quick blow to the back. Andrei was already staggering, holding his sword in his hand, pointing at the last bloodsucker.
- Dude, you won't try to run away, will you? - Andrew turned to him in a hoarse voice.
He was very thirsty, his body ached from the wounds that were all over his body. The bloodsucker made a guttural sound and moved towards him with quick steps.
Andrei blocked the heavy blows of this monster, it seemed to him that this bloodsucker was stronger, or maybe it was because of fatigue? As he continued to block and parry, he couldn't seem to find an opportunity to attack.
Feeling his eyes begin to slowly close, Andrei tried to strike from below. The bloodsucker of one of the hands blocked the blow with its claws, and at that moment when he could not remove the sword from the claw that blocked it.
The monster struck with the other hand and pierced Andrei's shoulder with its claws. Feeling terrible pain, Andrei let go of his sword and staggered back.
He saw his blood running down his clothes. Being shocked, he began to slowly move away from the bloodsucker. The monster, seeing how this creature that killed his entire flock, is dying, made a guttural sound and rushed at Andrey.
The guttural sound of the bloodsucker partially brought Andrey's consciousness back. Seeing the monster approaching him, he cursed his luck and this race.
Where was the magic he was supposed to have? This race of cursed angels was a waste of his time! Ignoring the approaching one, he knew that he would die here, he had already done enough for the first day of the game.
Watching how the monster swings both hands at him in the muzzle of the bloodsucker, Andrey saw that this bloodsucker enjoys his helplessness.
And when the claws remained a little before touching Andrei's throat, something happened that neither he nor the monster expected.
His four wings spread out, the top wings covered his body, and the bottom wings somehow attacked the monster.
Guttural sobs were heard, Andrei did not know what was happening while he was covered by wings.
After a while, all sounds disappeared and the wings folded back behind him. Due to fatigue, he did not pay attention to the message in the game world.
[Attention all players: The first cursed angel has appeared in the world to receive the cursed technique!]
Staggering, he examined the place where the battles took place, blood was flowing from many bodies of bloodsuckers.
With slow steps, Andrei approached the sword, casting a glance at him, he saw chips and cracks on the steel of the sword.
- You have served me well. - He turned, stroking the steel, trying not to move his shoulder. Andrey put it in the sheath.
He staggered to his knees in front of one of the corpses and began to pull out his fangs, his eyes closing.
Andrei did not know where he had the strength left to collect everything necessary to complete the quest.
He didn't have anything with him where he could put those fangs, and all that was left was in his pockets. Slowly preparing to leave, he remembered the book.
Returning to the tree, lowering his good hand, he grabbed the book. Andrei saw how traces remained on the book, but now he was not up to it.
Staggering from side to side, he went towards the village, at that moment he was glad that there were no monsters and other players.
