Valerian
For a few seconds, Ana seemed as if she was in a trance. Then, she hurriedly let go of the dagger. Ana just sat there, staring blankly at the dagger on the floor.
Valerian didn't understand why but as he watched her from across the room, a warm, protective instinct welled up inside him.
Valerian just shrugged the feeling off. Perhaps it was just beacause Ana was crucial in finding a cure.
But contrary to his thoughts, he found his feet walking towards Ana's direction unconciously.
"What's wrong?" Valerian asked.
"No-nothing." Ana replied but Valerian knew otherwise. He could hear Ana's heart beating eratically, as if she was frightened by something. It was a sound Valerian knew frighteningly well. It was a sound he associated with fear.
'Ana was afraid' He realized. Whatever happened to her seemed to cause her quite the fright.
