"Tsk. I should have noticed it earlier." Ana clicked her tongue. It rarely rained in the sanctuary because even the weather was controlled by the government. Each downpour and storm were scheduled solely for the purpose of irrigation.

It was peculiar that there would be a sudden storm out of nowhere—even when it wasn't scheduled.

Ana's mind worked swiftly amid the intermittent flashes of lightning that continued to illuminate the room. 

The rain outside, an unrelenting percussion against the windows, seemed to synchronize with Ana's thoughts. She recalled the Morse code message, the coded urgency, and the ominous time limit, realizing that the puzzle pieces were scattered across the room, waiting to be connected.
