Chapter 237: Technical Problems

The boys were quick on getting into the elevator, watching the holes begin to spread all over and allow the Staff Members to go in. One of them, in a last ditch attempt to close the gap, would toss their cavity straight at the elevator's entrance, letting it serve as a shortcut for the other Hotel staff to teleport through and reach to the children. Zazel and Harvard would prepare by issuing the same technique they've done as a defense, with the latter setting up Barrier, and the former issuing out Eligos to empower the shield even further, however as they did so, A Staff member immediately crawled out and tapped on the barrier itself, creating a hole almost instantly, as if it was just a mere bubble. "Ok, usual stuff's not going to work, what do we do?" Harvard would ask, casting another spell of frost to prevent the Staff Member from entering through the hole.

Zazel would provide further assistance by electrocuting the Barrier with another sigil: Furfur. Such currents quickly flooded the shield, preventing them from touching the barrier, whilst Harvard worked double in patching up the hole. "From what I'm gathering, they have to touch the thing in order to create the hole and appear through it. I wanna say its just like a door, but considering one of them just crawled out of someone else, it's safe to assume it's got more stuff we don't know about. Physical contact IS its weakness, so we just need to find a way to-"

"Damage them?"

"Exactly. We gotta do it in a way where they can't touch it, and we gotta make it quick enough so they can't read it and crawl into a nearby hole for escape."

Upon hearing such words, Harvard would get a wide smile on his face. "Easy! Let's blow everything up then! Can't touch an explosion, and it's sudden! You go set it up, I'll provide the impact!" The Card Magician would state proudly, casting another spell to cut the distance and appear on top of the Elevator itself, pulling at the cables in order to make them go up. Once they reach at a certain height, mentally counting up the amount of floors they went through, seeing the very roof of the tunnel, the Boy stopped himself and ripped the cables clean apart with his teeth, forcing the Elevator to start plummeting at a rapid rate. The Demon was keeping watch of his actions, knowing fully well he was going to escalate the situation further, yet he adapted to the situation as much as he could. Three sigils were made as a response, the first being of Kimaris, summoning the monster in order to hold onto him while he makes his drastic descent, letting its decrepit hands and mummified body cushion the blow and became ready to throw him out of the Elevator.

The second set were of the sigils used to create the detonation: Asmodeus and Furfur. Fire and Lightning. He'd keep hold of them, charging them up with as much energy as possible, hoping that, in conjunction with the destruction of the elevator itself, it would create a large enough explosion to reach up towards Harvard, allowing him to take just as much advantage as he did. He timed himself with each drop, all the way until he felt the slightest jolt that changed his body. It was time. The sigils were casted, Kimaris came and enveloped the Demon, his full appearance of a drained corpse, teeth bared and with clear eyes, garbed in pharaonic cloth and headgear, and lunged forward through the door, piercing through its steel containment, letting hell be brought once more into the Hotel.

KA-BOOOOOOM!!!

The flames quickly erupted, climbing across the shaft, spreading half of it out towards the hall, cremating the staff members that dared to approach it before getting the chance to fight back, and the other Half ready to do the same onto the Card Magician. Harvard would utilize the cloak as a cover, since it possessed the Monster's durability, tanking the explosion and rising in the same way. He'd keep watch to find the ceiling, a spell prepared to escape just before he gets slammed straight into the rubble, allowing him to avoid the explosion altogether. He can hear words and screams being made just outside of him, brief enough to understand their presence, yet not enough to know what they're saying. Harvard kept his cool, as he began to see the pully system and the steel cables that were once supporting such weight. This was his stop.

FWOOOOOSH!!

Disappearing in thin air and warping outside of the shaft, whilst doing it again to hide in a random room, the Explosion came in a tremendous flare of valiance, burning alive more of the staff members, having enough force to push them off, resulting in even a few being launched off the top floor from the windows. Their trick worked, the staff members, at least they presume most of them, were eradicated, hopefully leaving a scant few left for the rest to deal with. As he peaked out, he would be met with nothing but ash, dust, and burnt wood, seeing the carpet be aflame and continuing its coverage across the floor. Despite the morbid situation, he'd smile to himself, thinking he has outsmarted them. Just as he left the room, however...

SHIKK!!

A Stab, straight into his heart again. Harvard would look down and tried to grab ahold of the attacker, seeing a hole made not just on the floor, showcasing an entirely different room with more members to go up against, but also a solid hole made on himself, seeing his beating heart being struck, his organs on full display. He couldn't believe it, but they somehow managed to make a cavity under his very nose. How did they do this? How could they have gotten the chance? Regardless of such questions, the boy would cast another ice spell to freeze over the members and pull himself away from their clutches, ripping the cleaver off of his exposed chest, his heart regenerating once it did. He keeps a close eye on the members, seeing the many arms and hands began to climb out of the hole.

It wasn't going to be as easy as he thought..
