The Confrontation - Part 6

It was something that Vol himself hadn't considered, for he never knew that such things even existed. There was much he didn't know, but now he was beginning to see that through sheer strength, he could likely blunder his way through all manners of unlearned knowledge.

"Even if you can't feel Varsharn, you should be able to feel my axe," Vol told him.

"Tough warrior," Blackbeard goaded. "You've got me surrounded. Don't be pointing your axe at me like this is a duel."

It was a pathetic attempt at goading Vol. From the look that both men shared between them, they understood what he was doing. It was the only chance Blackbeard had. If they were to attack Blackbeard all at once, it would be an execution. Blackbeard pushed them towards a duel instead, knowing that, for Vol it mattered how he killed Blackbeard. The kill itself wasn't important, it was how it was done, for Vol wanted to keep as many of those Crooked-Tooth newcomers as he could.
