Of course, he was sure his own newly raised Command stat was certainly playing a role, but all the same, he'd put his words out there, and the men had responded ferociously to them. There was no more that needed to be said. It left him wishing that he'd been honest earlier.

All that suffering he'd endured trying to hide the Summoning that the System had given him, and the Burden of Suffering that had come along with it – that could have all been avoided if he'd simply been honest earlier. Now the Burden of Suffering hardly seemed a factor, with him being able to wield his magics so freely.

Seeing the results, as they currently were, it was impossible not to think that the System had planned to force him to grow in this direction somehow. It had contorted his world so that he didn't have a choice. There was to be no hiding from what he was. If he wished to get stronger, he couldn't afford to have anything but the most solid of foundations beneath the surface.
