"Ah! Look out!" Penelope said. Vol ducked on instinct, just in time for a giant ball of purple fire to go flying over his shoulder. He looked at Penelope with a growl. The girl flinched, her shoulders slumped. "Sorry… I tried to make it bigger, like you said, I thought that tossing a ball of fire into it might work but…"

"You're a Farseer, aren't you? Aren't you meant to like, have a sense for this kind of thing?" Vol said.

"Now you sound almost identical to my father," Penelope said. "This training shall continue to disappoint you just as it disappointed him."

"You gave me advice with my Summoning. How are you able to do that, and you can't do the same thing for yourself? Have you tried what you told me, doing the emotion clock or whatever it is that you called it?" Vol said.
