For once, many of the villagers were on Vol's side for what he'd done. Even Blight – the elder's aged son – was speaking up on his behalf.

"They tried to steal our women, father!" The man cried. "They should have been burned alive for what they did. They were hours away from slavery. Karsam women, reduced to nothing more than the spoils of some foreign war. I won't have that."
