Earl Hellan - Part 5

The man's eyes widened as he felt the pain run up his body, and he felt his ribs crushed under a weighty blow. His Earl hadn't fled. He was standing immobile, and he had his distraught feelings written on his aged face, but he hadn't fled. The man realized the truth the second his gaze fell upon the weapon embedded in his chest. He saw too the curling of Vol's lips, as they arose in a humourless and cruel smile.

"Bastard…" the man said, blood falling from the corners of his mouth. "No honour… No honour… You bastard…"

He choked on that last word, and with it, there came Vol's fist to deliver the finishing blow. He found the man's face under his helmet, and he smashed him from his horse, retrieving his axe cruelly in the same motion, twisting the weapon to widen the wound as he did so.
