The men, impossibly, had been allowed a chance to rest. None needed it more than the villagers. That short little breathing period extended their lifespans by several minutes. By the monstrosity that was Vol's presence, he'd managed to keep an entire army at bay.

Only now was that delicate balance beginning to crumble, and once more, Vol reached for his hammer, sliding his hand off Penelope's head.

The Third Boundary men were working together this time. Their weight was like that of a boulder, rather than several rocks. By Pandora's flame, he could see that they were a most intimidating sight.

He took a single step forward, his heavy boot sinking into the sand. His eyes didn't blink, as he stared down his foe, and his hammer remained at the ready.
