It was a strangely cut and dry process. There was an orderliness to it that didn't exist in the Yarmdon. Rarely, if ever, did they need to write things down. A general sense for the rules was what they followed, in the same way that hens knew the order of their standing in their own group without needing to give voice to it.

It was the most minor of achievements, but Vol still half-expected it to be fraught with some difficulty in getting it recognized. Yet Penelope had returned with a smile, declaring that she'd managed to get their completed quest stamped onto their smile without a problem. It seemed a far more streamlined way of progressing.

If one had the strength, would they not simply rise up the ranks, completing quest after quest?

It made Vol wonder what it would have been like if he'd found his power in the Syndran lands instead. Would he have been persecuted?
