A Glorious Battlefield - Part 5

They were ever so confident as they marched. It was a strange thing to bear witness to. Theirs was the march of those that were certain of their destiny. They believed it to be justice that was carried out – or so Vol thought, watching them. Their certainty was absolutely unwavering. The whole army came pouring out into their vision with all the justice of an army of angels.

It did not do much for the confidence of the soldiers that Tiller had given them. They were covered in cobwebs, even if they couldn't be seen on their armour. Their mood was dark and gloomy, and the man that had been put in charge of them, in Vol of the Sea Serpents, was undoubtedly a man of the utmost darkness as well. They could not tell the true depth of that darkness, in the likes of his ability to turn men into monsters, but even the sense of it they took from the surface was enough for them to think, perhaps they were not to be the heroes in this story after all.
