Breaking the Data Walls

"Hi, Maria," I greeted her warmly upon seeing her behind the cashier's counter, and seeing Jack nearby, I tried to befriend him, "Hey Jack, how have you been?" Both of them looked at me puzzled, but I didn't give them a chance to answer or ask.

 

"Where's Biggs? I'm looking for him."

 

Jack frowned and pointed to the corner where a man was busy with his laptop. "Thanks, and Maria, a cold orange juice as usual, please," I said, placing a bill on the counter and then made my way to Biggs.

 

"Alright," Maria said, looking in Jack's direction as if asking him something with her eyes, and Jack simply shrugged.

 

A man in his 40s who suddenly appeared and acted familiar with them. Let them think about it.

 

I approached Biggs, tapped him on the shoulder, and quickly absorbed his power and a bit of his memory on how to use it. "Hey Biggs?"

 

Biggs was startled and looked at me. "Yes?"
