Chapter 11: Curiosity is Not Solely Human Nature

The infirmary of the castle was by no means small and saw to many demons, some dragged all the way from the battlefields.

It was not a pleasant sight, though it never was. Elanor had her work cut out for her. Her magic wasn’t infinite and the injured and dying would be never ending for as long as this war went on.

“Do you know how many are currently injured?” She asked Leylin.

“…Right now, we have about 300 patients—though there’s way more than that in the long-term care. I suggest seeing to the ones in critical condition, another battle might happen later in the day so be prepared for that too.”

“Right,” grimaced Elanor before taking a breath. “Alright, come on, I need to see what I’m working with, then I’ll start attending to the patients. Are you going to be with me all day?”

“Those are my orders,” Leylin snarked. “Just focus on your work and I’ll do mine.”
