Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

*Jonathan’s POV*

Never did I think that I would be an undercover officer right out of the police academy. It usually took a lot of additional training and seniority. It took an expert, and though I didn’t doubt my talent I was far from the best to select for this position.

Don’t get me wrong. It was definitely goal of mine to get onto the force and rise through the ranks, making deputy or chief in record time. Still, I didn’t think something like this mission would actually happen so soon.

While I am not either of those at the moment, going undercover is a huge step for a rookie fresh out of the academy like myself.

I remember when the murders first started. It was a few cases here and there, but that was to be expected. There was no clear pattern. There was no specific dump site. The victims were all in places where they were sure to be discovered, but it was not like these organized crime groups ever tried to hide one of their crimes.
